If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What's up everyone. I'm looking to vinyl bits and pieces of my Genny and I'm trying to figure out which color would match best with the factory paint. It's a toss up between gloss black and gloss black metallic.

May I assume we are talking plastikote here and not landau top?

Black car?

Which pieces, grill, wheels?

I want to vinyl over the chrome and other non-black pieces for a complete blackout look

Neither my man. I'm looking to buy a small roll of vinyl that is used to wrap entire cars to wrap bits and pieces of my Genny and I just want it to match the factory paint. Basically any chrome piece and non-black piece

Ah, I would think a dark red would look very bad ass. If you want to go black, you might look at a carbon fiber looking vinyl. That should eliminate the "exact match" issue.

I toyed with the idea of black carbon fiber but I figured it would look out of place on a Genesis sedan. So I figured I'd match everything to the factory paint. I ordered a sample of both gloss black and gloss black metallic to match up to the paint and see which looks closest so I can wrap everything in it. Once the weather breaks and everything is better outside, I'm thinking about wrapping the entire thing satin black. There's too many black Genesis sedans where I am and I want mine to stand out and be different. The tint and the smoked tail lights help but it's not enough.

After I polished my car and sealed it, the metal flake really stands out so I would think the best match would be the metallic black. Although, not much of the flake is actually silver, a lot of it looks gold, red, and blue to me. Not sure if that's just light playing tricks on me or if that is the color of the specks. But my black ('13) definitely is metallic so I would go with that. Make sure to post pics when you're done! I'm thinking about blacking out a few pieces too.

I may do that one day.

Just MHO

I ended up ordering a small sample of each to match up to the car. I definitely will. I can't wait to get it done honestly.

I'll attach pictures of my Sonata. The car I head before my Genesis. I'm out of the dip game after I was the first with that color...literally :D. I don't want dip touching this one though. I feel as though it looks too good to dip any part of it.

I would definitely do it. I love the pano roof look. I've ordered gloss and gloss black metallic vinyl samples to match with the paint so I can order and start wrapping.

If/when i do it I'll definitely post pictures. I've seen it on a few white cars (mostly bmws and audis) and it looks really slick
