  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

It is hot as heck here and the voice command seemed to be more erratic than usual. It occured to me that the AC fan on high was reducing the signal to noise ratio. Ran a trial today, and it was obvious that the fan can and does interfere with voice commands.

Obvious, but you know what they say about common sense.

When first driving in hot weather, it has become a habit for me to punch the fan down a couple of notches temporarily in order to give a voice command. My son in law has the same problem in his Lincoln, so I think most cars will work this way.

Yes, but certain GM models have a "step down" feature that reduces the fan speed/noise whenever a voice recognition button is pressed to minimize interference.
It would've been a nice touch if Hyundai implemented that feature.

And many GM vehicles have fans that simply dont work after the warranty runs out making the voice recognition very easy to......oh wait that broke too.

I have not had any problem with any fan sound interfering with voice commands, no matter the speed.
