  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Recently, the voice command in the head unit does not seem to be functioning properly on my 2016 3.8 ultimate. I have an iPhone and the car connects via bluetooth just fine every time. I used to be able to press the button and "Please say a command" text with a beep would play. Now, the car does not offer a voice prompt. After I press the button, I can still speak and it recognizes the command and it does follow the instruction, but it is not working properly and for various reasons it is helpful for it to function properly so I know how to interact. Nav guidance works fine (voice guidance provide directions). I have looked at the different settings for voice command (the three levels of interaction), and change the setting to see it this made a difference. Nope. look all over in the voice settings, change the language, adjusted everything i could find and tested functionality. I have used the wired/USB connection. No luck. Looking around I can't seem to find an instance of this issue. Any thoughts on a fix outside of resetting the system (I would rather not)? Thanks!

Not sure what changed, but I am happy to report that all systems are back to normal.

IMO the voice command on the Genesis is complete crap. Half the time mine won’t give you the prompt beep or it will beep but won’t ask you anything after the beep and just ends up saying sorry. I completely gave up trying to use it for navigation and just use it for calls which still takes multiple prompts to get it right. Sometimes resetting the head unit makes it work a little better but that’s annoying as well having to constantly reset the head unit.

I mainly (almost only) use it for calls as well. That is why I need it to work. With all the contacts in my phone it takes multiple prompts to get to the number I need. This is on me as my contact database is a mess.

Not a fan of the Genesis implementation... Voice commands worked better in my old 2005 Acura TL.
