voice on hands free calling gone

Whe I pushed the upper left button to hands free call, there was a verbal prompt and then it would announce the number it was calling.
For no reason I can see, the audio is gone The system still dials correctly, but need to look at the screen to see what is going on.
Went over every setting on the screen and menus you see from the steering wheel button but see nothing to turn the voice back on.

Any ideas?
If iIpress the reboot button will I loose my stored adresses for the GPS?

Turns out you were right! Turned the volume from from the steering wheel and now it works. I did not not know the steering wheel cylinder works independantly from the dashboard knob.
