  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Almost time to pull the snows off the 2015 Genesis 3.5
Any good deals on spring summer fall tires right now?
I almost regret buying the snow tires. We got hardly any snow this year in NYC
And now I have to buy a whole new set of tires lol

Sales will happen during the holidays. You just missed Presidents Day. Next sale should be Memorial Day. Unless the Ukrainian hasn't resolved, then most sales will be out the window.

When I lived in CT I bought Nokian WRG3 tires. They are made for year round use in North America and have a real snow rating. Had them on a couple of cars and were very good.

Yea I kind of regret now buying all year tires now lol. But its too late so I am stuck with seasonal tire changes.

Do you want more of a three season tire? If so, Continental and Michelin have some good offerings

Yea I am just wondering if I should but "summer" tires since I already have the snows for the winter. I never seen a three season tire though.

Most of the Ultra High Performance All-Season tires are three season. And while they have some snow traction, I wouldn't count on them to get you very far. Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06 Plus touts that it has the mountain with the snowflake on the sidewall, but when it comes to deep snow or ice nothing. I personally have Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 tires and had ZERO traction. I had to ditch my car and walk home in the storm last February.

While I do like the Continentals, they have a weird on-center feel but their wet traction is near the best. Michelin does everything good but not great. It has a bit of a drone at high speed. Mine are wearing really well. Was told I'd get about 25,000 miles from staggered tire, as their is some drag from the rear tires.

The Continental ContiExtremeContact DWS06 Plus is on sale right now $185.00 a tire. Its rated all season. The Extreme Contact Sport tire is the summer version but its $220.00 per tire.

Last year I tried a set of (Consumer Reports - good review) Atlas UHP tires. $88 online at Priority Tire. Cushy and lots of grip. I had some vibration issues and Tires Plus claimed one was so bad it couldn't be balanced... without attempting to Road Force balance them. Though I ended up replacing them with other tires, I feel if you could find a dealer who'd work with you and road force balance them properly (without trying to sell you something else), it could be a great summer tire.

I have always been a Michelin guy. They are on my Lexus and Corvette. When I replaced the tires on my Toyota Avalon, I put the Michelin Primacy on. The car rode like it was on a cloud. So when my 2015 Genesis 3.8 needed tires I naturally replaced with the same Primacy. And it has been God AWFUL. The issue was as soon as they were put on. The car wanders in the lane on the highway even though your wheel is straight. At first I thought they screwed up the alignment and brought it back. But they swore everything was fine. I took it to a Hyundai dealership and they said that there were no mechanical issues. I had 4 different places check the car and alignment and everyone swears there isnt anything wrong with the car. I did notice that there is the word GREEN on the tire and I am wondering if this was a different manufacturing style than the ones I had put on the Avaon a few years earlier. So when my 2004 Lexus SC430 needed tires there was no way I was replacing the Michelin Sport with Michelins again. After some serious online investigating, I found that many people love a tire called Vederstein. I had never heard of them but they get great reviews from owners. I put them on the Lexus and they are fantastic. The ride is so much quieter and smoother than the Michelin Sports. I am thinking about contacting Michelin about getting these tires pro rated and off my car. Look into them for the Genesis.. They are also cheaper than the Michelins.

Light snow. Anything more, they are worthless.

If he'd wanted summers, I'd recommend Michelin Pilot Sport 4S

Vredsteins are very popular in Europe. In America, not so much. While at Discount, I asked about them. They could order them (from Tire Rack) but said they could do nothing for warranty work. I'd have to deal with Tire Rack on them.

Not sure if the formulation on the Primacys have changed. Definitely take it up with Michelin. The Genesis was originally tuned with ultra high performance tires on the car, which is why I got the Pilot Sport 3 A/S tires. I would have gotten Continentals but the previous set really left me with a bad taste.

Bridgestone, Conti, Cooper, Goodyear, Hankook, Michelin, Pirelli, Yokohama, (to name a few) all have multiple plants in China.

And, I won't buy any of them with a country build code of CN.
