  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Does anyone know how to figure out when your warranty expires? I know the expiration for the mileage is easy to figure out but how do I know the exact DATE the warranty expires? I bought my 2013 Genesis used so I don't know when the original sale took place. Is there a website or something I can type my VIN number into that will tell me? Thanks in advance everyone!

Contact any Hyundai dealer and give them your VIN. The original in-service date will be in the computers that all dealers have access to.

The basic warranty is 5 years or 60K miles, except for the radio/Nav system, which is only 3 years or 36K miles. Certain items like paint is 1 year.

If your car was purchased as a CPO from a Hyundai dealer, the extended drivetrain warranty (usually only for original owner) is 10 years or 100K miles. The dealer has to pay Hyundai a fee to sell a used car as CPO.

The key date is the in-service date which may differ from the date of sale.

I was able to contact a dealer that finally was able to give me the in-service date of 1/31/2013, so I should be covered until 1/31/2018. Just in time to pick up a Genesis G80!

I am not sure what you meant by that, but if a previously contacted dealer said they could not get that info, then they were lying.

Dealers don't like to do warranty service, since they make no money on parts mark-up, and the labor rate that Hyundai reimburses them for is at or below their actual cost of labor.
