  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have a 2009 Genesis 3.8 with the Tech package, purchased it about a month ago. I was leaving for work and the outside temp was -4. After I started the car, I noticed a problem with the radio. Most of the stations I listen to use HDRadio, one doesn't. The HD stations wouldn't work via the presets, but I could manually tune to them without the HD working.

I finally decided it must be something with the presets since they all show HD-1 next to the HD stations. When I'd use the preset, the display showed the selected channel, but it was still tuned to the non-HD channel I sometimes use. I turned the car off at a stoplight thinking that would reset the system, it didn't. I tried it again during my lunch hour, 3 hours later, and now the HD stuff is working properly. Outside temp is now 0.

My warranty is up in less than 1,000 miles. Is this something I should have the dealership check or is it due to the cold temps as a one off.

Thanks!

Warranty for radio/sound system/DVD video/GPS, etc is 3 years or 36K miles, which ever comes first. You thinking of the "new car" 5 year 60K mile warranty, but that does not include the above items, unless you purchased an extended warranty.

Yikes.. I'd be more concerned about the -4 temp actually

How about this one... Today I had two rear seat passengers sharing a phone charger plugged in my USB port in the console. Every time they changed the charger from one phone to the other, my radio would turn on. Can't imagine what this is all about but it was good for a couple of laughs. Anyone else ever seen this?
