  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Has anyone had an issue like this? Another thing is the passenger side mirror intermittently works. I wonder if the two are related? Today I will probably disconnect the battery and see if that changes anything. I will also get the battery tested since it is about 4-5 years old.

I tested out the battery when I got home with the multimeter and it was putting out 12.3 volts not running. Which to me it is saying the battery is about 50% health. The battery in the car was replacement Ford H-9 flooded battery. The cheapest AGM battery I could find it town was a H-8 from Walmart for $165. And a $12 core charge. The car does have multiple locations for the battery hold down bracket, so you could fit a smaller battery in that location if need be. I just moved it up one notch to hold the H-8. It was not perfect. I did have open up the battery bracket bolt hole about a 1/16 inch to get the bolt to line up directly. Now the battery is putting out 13.2 volts not running.

It also seems like everything is working correctly.

Just an update, everything works but the passenger side seat heater. I will pull it apart soon to see if I can fix it. If anything I will buy an aftermarket seat heater element and replace the factory version. I am not spending $900 to replace the whole seat bottom/element unless I have to. Wish me luck.

Thanks. I will check it out soon.

Awesome! Thanks for the info. So one question, you disconnected your air bag with the battery still hooked up?

Thanks to the walkthru air540g I was able to fix the broken seat heater wire on my wife's car. The only thing not mentioned was a weird connector I had to figure out how to release. Here are a few pics. seat heater.webpseat heater1.webp
