  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Sooo.... noticed when i was getting in the car in the morning that the inside windshield/ rear glass had moisture on them. Knew something was wrong cause never had that problem before in other cars. Moisture was somewhere and it had rained here for about a week. Finally stopped raining, stopped at the car wash and was vacuuming it out when I found it - about a half inch of water in the driver side rear floor pan. Nowhere else, just there. Got as much out as possible... gonna be able to let it dry for a few days (no rain). So what next? Should I try to find the leak with a hose or just carry it to service and let them figure it out.

It might be aa heater core failing. Generally you will find condensation inside on the windows with a failing heater core. Not to say this is the problem but it's definitely a symptom. Please, take it to the dealer and let them sort it out for you. If it's not the dealer can take it thru there high pressure car wash and find out if it's a seal leaking much quicker than you're able to. Hope they you get it repaired quickly for you.

So it seems that the front driver's floorboard is damp (not really wet like the rear driver side floorboard)... Not sure if the car slants a bit to the rear so this is the reason it's wetter in the back. Gonna dry it out and call the dealer next week.

Had the "Water Doctor" check out the car today. Seems the leak is coming from the gas fill pipe, running down the side of it, down the top of the fender well and filling up the rear driver side floor pan. Supposedly a dealer service bulletin about this. He said the area that needed fixing is not accessible without cutting the fender off - great! He said the other "fix" is to seal around the filler pipe close to the opening of the gas cap, which he did. He said 50-50 chance of failure.
Going to give that a shot and see where it leads. If it doesnt fix it I'll give the Carmax warranty a shot and see if they can fix it.

Absolutely make them do the work.

Didnt ever do anything more that what you read in the post above. Just been diligent in keeping it dry - keeping the mat off when there's a lot of rain, using the floor heater often, vacuming etc

Could it be the sun/pano roof leaking due to clogged drains?

As far as I know it's not the roof - no wetness anywhere but the floorboard. None down the side pillars etc. The leak company that checked it out said it was the filler tube path - which might be true as when he sealed around the base at the tube mount it cut the water amount quite a bit. It's just annoying

Yes I can only imagine. I read that , I dont know much about the placement of the neck or how it is routed? I can't believe they would have to cut out quarter panel to fix it!!

cut out quarter panel to fix it!
Yeah, that's why I havent done anything going forward. There's no access to the tube - trunk etc. It's manageable now, I believe it was so wet when I first discovered it was I didnt know about the issue and the mat was over the floorboard and didnt get wet. Since I know about it, I pick my mat up when I know there will be a few days of rain and run the floor vents after rainy days. That seems to be working ok for me.

Yes I guess knowing about the problem you manage it. It is one of those things you have to live with I suppose. I just stinks to have a problem like that and not be able to fix it.

Does anyone know if there was a TSB issued for this water leakage issue?
