Background:
I live in Washington state. I made an appointment to get my ABS recall done. When I called my local dealer, they informed me that there is a second recall to be performed on my 2015 Genesis 3.8 Ultimate. Hmmm ... OK, I said, let's do it. They told me it would be about a two-hour job.
Current Situation:
I took my car in last Friday (June 10). When I got there, they told me it would take about six hours to complete both recalls. Damn ...
Today (Monday, June 14), they tell me it will "probably" be done tomorrow (Tuesday, June 15.) That means they will have had my car for five days (if, in fact, it is completed by tomorrow)!
In the mean time, I looked online to find the second recall - nothing I can find. My VIN showed no other recalls. Today, I asked them WTF? They explained that there is a brake line recall, which they are performing on my car. Apparently, the Hyundai west coast service manager mandated to all dealers that this brake line recall is to be done on all '15-'16 Genesis, even though it was not valid for all Genesis. Further research shows that it is only supposed to be for "cold-weather states," and that was overruled by the west coast service manager.
My point in all of this is ... west coast owners, be aware that this might happen to you.
