If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. Does anyone have any thoughts as to what color the genesis seems to look best with? It seems that most cars "look" the best with certain colors and dont look that good with other colors. Thoughts?

My favorites are black and silver.. They both look very luxurious to me. I'm not sure of the actual color names off hand...

I thought that the black and dark blue exteriors looked best because the front air damm tended to blend and and not pull attention to the front "zit". The interior black is more a dark grey. The cashmere looks real good but for some reason they put the black leather on the dash vs the brown with this combo and I personally did not like that combo. I have not seen the saddle but I think that is my first choice based on pictures.

Does anyone know if the color schemes (especially interior) change with the V-8 vs the V-6? I am leaning toward a Black V-8 with Cashmere interior since I live in Texas and am concerned the Black interior would be too hot.

It looks great in black, titanium grey and the blue silver, & dark blue (can't recall the last 2 names). I think the pearl white would look great, but I haven't seen one yet. I don't care for the lighter silver color (it's too washed out looking and lacks depth IMO), or the maroon red, but that's just me. As far as interior colors, my favorite is the black/saddle combo. The tan is nice, but a bit too light for my taste and the saddle is just a bit too much brown for my taste.

I went on the website to create the Genesis in various colors and I couldn't believe the Champagne color doesn't come with the Chocolate/Malt interior. If anything, I think that combo is hot and would be appropriate. I don't know where Hyundai's head is at times....

I still haven't decided on my colors but I'm leaning to the Pearl White.

As color choices are inherently subjective, I'm reluctant to weigh in on this topic. And yet, having decided to buy a Genesis, I'm struggling MUCH more than usual zeroing in on an exterior and interior color.

If I was willing to go with black/black, I could have consumated a deal on Friday, as my dealer just received a V6 Tech Pkg in those colors. But I'm disinclined to go with a black interior due to heat absorption (it's also a less-than-ideal choice given the need to transport my golden retreiver now and then).

And it's not that Hyundai's choices are unreasonably limited, at least compared to other high-end offerings. My last two cars have been BMWs ordered direct from Munich -- and they don't offer unlimited choices, by any means -- but I've always been able to zero in on a color combo much faster than I am this time.

FWIW, I told my dealer that if he can find a Sapphire (dark) Blue Pearl with the Cashmere (beige) interior, I'll buy it. Hopefully I won't change my mind if he pulls it off (particularly since he's my brother-in-law!).

musher51,

There is a dark blue Genesis with cashmere interior at a dealership near me. It is the premium plus package. No technology. Good looking car but for me, it's black on black (though the interior is not really black).

BTW, I live in Dallas, TX.

Your post pretty well describes how I feel about the colors. With other vehicles I have purchased (BMW, Lexus) I was able to settle on an exterior/interior color combo that satisfied me. With the Genesis it's been more of a challenge. I love the black exterior but am not happy with the interior color options. The sand is too light of a color and the black is too dark. Really wish they offered a dark grey color interior which would work well with the black exterior.

sesame60,

Have you seen the black interior in person? It is not really Jet Black as they describe. It is much more a charcoal gray. I am not a fan of dark interiors, especially black. And, I have always stayed away from black cars. That being said, I will own a black Genesis with the black interior as soon as I can get the V8 Techno package for a little under MSRP!

Hell, I have a $500 coupon!

I have only seen the black interior in a photo and not in person. I guess I should reserve judgement until I see it with my own eyes. I could probably live with charcoal gray. Sounds like your Genesis will be identical (Black 4.6L w/Techno Pkg) to mine as soon as we can get a decent deal....LOL!

I normally prefer the tan (cashmere in this case) interiors. The problem I have with the Genesis tan/cashmere interior is that, in my opinion, it looks a little cheap. I'm not sure what it is exactly, but I just can't get excited about it. I think one of the things that throws me is the carpeting in the cashmere interiors. The carpeting is black/dark gray. When I look at a Genesis with the cashmere interior it looks like there is a lot going on in there. The others look consistent and much more upscale to me.

Then again, my wife says that I'm color blind!

My first choice for the exterior color of any car is always white. I would prefer a lighter shade of gray (smoke) for the interior. Unfortunately, that is not an option with the Genesis. I suppose I will just wait to see the choices up close and see what grabs me.

Great job BaywayRic! It's odd that Hyundai chose to ditch the more colorful interior color names on their website. In the Genesis brochure Brown is called Saddle, Black it called Jet Black, and Beige is called Cashmere.

That interior color is definitely not Jet Black.........and I'm damn glad too!
Just saw the "Jet Black" interior on a car and it easily passes for dark grey. Woohoo! I won't mind getting that interior with the Black exterior.

Cashmere??? Come on. Cashmere??? How about Wasteland Tan? How about Sand Fatigues??? Cashmere??? Jeez...

Let's jump in my car with the cashmere seats, and head to yoga class.

Even beige sounds better. Why Hyundai? Why?

Relax. Lexus and Cadillac also call their tan interiors Cashmere.
