As color choices are inherently subjective, I'm reluctant to weigh in on this topic. And yet, having decided to buy a Genesis, I'm struggling MUCH more than usual zeroing in on an exterior and interior color.
If I was willing to go with black/black, I could have consumated a deal on Friday, as my dealer just received a V6 Tech Pkg in those colors. But I'm disinclined to go with a black interior due to heat absorption (it's also a less-than-ideal choice given the need to transport my golden retreiver now and then).
And it's not that Hyundai's choices are unreasonably limited, at least compared to other high-end offerings. My last two cars have been BMWs ordered direct from Munich -- and they don't offer unlimited choices, by any means -- but I've always been able to zero in on a color combo much faster than I am this time.
FWIW, I told my dealer that if he can find a Sapphire (dark) Blue Pearl with the Cashmere (beige) interior, I'll buy it. Hopefully I won't change my mind if he pulls it off (particularly since he's my brother-in-law!).
sesame60,
Have you seen the black interior in person? It is not really Jet Black as they describe. It is much more a charcoal gray. I am not a fan of dark interiors, especially black. And, I have always stayed away from black cars. That being said, I will own a black Genesis with the black interior as soon as I can get the V8 Techno package for a little under MSRP!
Hell, I have a $500 coupon!
Great job BaywayRic! It's odd that Hyundai chose to ditch the more colorful interior color names on their website. In the Genesis brochure Brown is called Saddle, Black it called Jet Black, and Beige is called Cashmere.
