  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What do you think about the KDM hood ornament on the Equus?

Thanks for the removal info Knight_iii. I checked with Hyundai parts and they said I could not order the flat hood ornament seal by itself, and I don't want to spend $50.00 every time I swap the "flying horse" for the flat badge. Now I'm curious as to what you use for a seal to protect the paint as well as prevent leakage when you swap them back and forth?

First I removed the adhesive pad from the original flat ornament to allow me to install and remove it in seconds without it being sticky. I used some simple thin weather stripping on the underside of the flat emblem and cut it to fit around the edges. I am sure you can even find a rubber gasket and just cut to fit. To be honest, I rarely swap them unless I'm in a area where there is a good chance of someone trying to steal it. I rarely am in those locations anyway.

I will try to get around to posting some pics, I just have the next couple weeks booked solid of things I need to do....

Appreciate the information. I won't remove the Flat original until I've found something to use as a gasket.

I am thinking to replace the Equus hood flat emblem with the KDM frying eagle hood ornament. What do you guys think? Is it too much for a Hyundai?
It shouldn't be. you should see the hood ornament on my 09 Genny! I have yet to get a bad review. I can't go 3 blocks without someone trying to flag me down to ask about the car or the hood ornament (most think it came with it)!
