  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What do you wish you negotiated differently when you bought?

Is there a feature you wish you didnt buy? Do you wish you negotiated a better warranty? Im in the process of locking down a 2023 GV70. Wondering what can be negotiated and what cant? I have a dealership that is charging 10% over MSRP on the 2.5 sport prestige and one charging 8% over MSRP(but further away). Curious what is the lowest i can likely get them to go? I get they need to make their profit. Just trying to understand what is fair for them. 2%? 5%?

Also side question. Does anyone know if the issues with the prestige that i have read about were fixed in the 2023?

Thanks.

At MSRP dealers are already making a decent profit. At 5%-10% markup dealers are doubling their profit. Most dealers would love to sell every vehicle at MSRP. With the automobile chip debacle and shortages, dealers are just using this opportunity to further line their packets, plan and simple. I have never paid MSRP for a vehicle other than my Harley. HD dealers pretty much all sell at MSRP so you deal with it or don’t ride a HD. I’d tried to negotiate back to MSRP or walk and find another dealer. There are still dealers who will sell at MSRP you just may have to drive some to find one.

So to put it concisely. At this point in time, If you want to buy a GV70 Genesis at MSRP you are going to have to put in the work calling dealers, be prepared to wait, and maybe drive or pay to have it shipped to you. If you are not willing to do some or all of that, pay the markup for the convenience.
