  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What features content would you like to see on the Equus?

Assuming that the predicted U.S. pricing of $48k (base) - $58k (fully-loaded) is accurate, what feature content do you feel Hyundai must include on the Equus in order to satisfy potential buyers?

This is tricky, because Hyundai can't offer all the feature content found on the KDM model due to pricing concerns, but they need to offer enough goodies to clearly separate it from the Genesis and compete w/ the established luxury marquees.

What I would like to see as standard (aside from the obvious things that one would rightfully expect on a car of this price):

-12 way adjustable front seats w/ memory
-Alcantara headlinger
-Heated/Cooled front seats
-Rear seat climate controls
-Auto dimming exterior mirrors
-Bi-Xenons

What I would like to see as optional:

-Adjustable suspension
-Adaptive cruise
-Swiveling Bi-Xenons
-Heated rear seats
-Power Opening/Closing Trunk
-Rear seat DVD Player
-Upgraded Nav system w/ 20GB hard drive music storage and superior bluetooth and ipod integration

I'm pretty sure the reclining heated/cooled massage rear seats and center console w/ fridge won't make it. I also don't think it will get the fold down tray or a front view camera. And honestly, I doubt most people care. Most people buying a $50k car aren't being chauffeured around anyway.

Come on guys, speak up! Who knows if Hyundai is listening. ;)

Adaptive cruise, lane departure warning, and power trunk are baseline as far as I'm concerned given the price delta from the Genesis Tech. And the US prototype appears to have the front camera in the grille, so front camera would be an option at least if not standard.

I'd certainly hope they'd improve on the Lexicon system, if nothing other than to tighten up the little details that were missed (better iPod integration, faster folder navigation, song progress bar, MP3 tag support, and so on). User accessible hard drive would be nice, but given how cheap flash memory has gotten, I'd prefer that to a relatively expensive, low capacity shock-resistant hard drive. I'd worry also about spending that much money and have a relatively old-school tech package for years when we're on the cusp of the next-generation of telematics and network-connected systems. Unless Hyundai uses someone else's network (XM, OnStar, etc), I don't see a Mozen-like service deployed just for this car.

Anyway, some other things I'd like to see:

- Parking assist
- Blind spot warning or camera
- Adjustable suspension (Sport mode)
- Heated and cooled seats all around
- Manual side rear sunshades
- Dual view monitor (a la Mercedes' SPLITVIEW)

I agree with many of the requested features above - plus I'd LOVE the feature that the BMW 7-Series and Lexus LS460 has where you can take your foot off the brake once stopped and the car holds in park for you until you step on the gas again - at which point it seamlessly removes the brake and sends you on your way...

I like that feature a lot - and may not even be able to do without it. It may sound petty, but so are automatic locks...

My personal think to US version Equus.

1. Remove all back seat stuffs(massage chair, back seat car theater, lcd screen, cool gadgets. etc), price down than Korean version. reduce weight.
Because, Most North America consumers are NOT chauffeur-driven, They are owner-driven. Instead, Install 5.0L or 5.5L tau V8 engine.
2. Hybrid Equus

Just personal think.

I really like this feature. It's seems extraneous until you are in stop and go traffic for a while (which almost never happens in Los Angeles )

Some of the ideas that have been manifesting themselves in cars lately, are so compelling they should migrate to the general automotive population, much like ABS & stability control was once a luxury car only item. Precrash brake, where the car senses that a crash is imminent and applies full brake force seems like a no brainer.
