What is the price difference between K&N & OEM air filters?

for a 4.6 Genesis. I know I can get the K&N for $46, but can't find a price for the OEM air filter.
 
When you consider that you'll never have to buy another filter if you install the K&N it's a no-brainer. Plus you will get better performance and mpg with the K&N. I've been using K&N filters in all of my cars since I discovered them in the mid '70s. $46 is about what I paid for the one in my 4.6. My local Hyundai sells them in the parts department for more though. Buy it online.
 
Not to rain on your parade. Some people love K&N air filters. I had used them in my VW. I found out the best way to start a firestorm on the VW forum was mention K&N air filters.
The general thought on the VW forums is that oiled filters (K&N) gum up the MAF-mass air flow sensor which in turn causes problems. I personally hadn't had an issue but I also replaced the K&N back to oem. FWIW
 
Hyundai has issued a TSB about after-market air filters, but don't recall if it was Genesis specific.
 
When I originally "discovered" K&N air filters in the mid '70s it was at a business called The Offroad Warehouse. On display was a Volkswagen dunebuggy which had just competed in the Baja 1000 off road race. It had a circular K&N air filter about 8" in diameter and about 6" tall. It was covered in at least 1/2 inch of sand on the outside. The inside was nice and redish pink with the K&N oil perfectly clean. I was sold. We installed it on my brother's VW and never had an issue. Admittedly it had a carborator and no MAF senser. But, I did mention in my last post that the Hyundai Dealership at which I purchased my Genesis does sell the K&N filter for the Genesis. I bought one for less online. I've had one on my wife's 2001 Lincoln LS V8 for going on 11 years now and only had to clean it once because I thought it would be prudent. There was no difference in the vehicle's performance either before or after. My other two cars are also fuel injected and use those filters. Other than my Genesis all three have over 110,000 miles up to 150,000 miles with K&N. I think the filters have long ago paid for themselves.
 
I would stay with the OEM until out of warranty. I use K&N in my BMW however it has 225,000 miles on it. The K&N type oiled filters, if too much oil is used, can cause problems with sensors in the newest engines.
 
I pulled the OE filter and installed a K&N filter. I pulled the Air flapped door at the bottom of the air box at the same time. No problems in over 1 year with it installed.
