  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What is the true purpose for the reach thru to the trunk from the backseat?

Other than to retrieve a beer from a hidden ice chest.

a little research tells me that it is for long straight items in the trunk, such as skis.

It's how I carry my Fly Rods in their rod cases.

i think the little hole is to stay the weed and other stuff before the trooper comes up to the window.> just kidding

i think its for ski's etc i dont think that it will help with a trip from home depot but handy just the same

Mine did! A few mid-sized boards from HD's "cull pile" were too good to pass up for some jigs I had in mind. Normally I use my Corolla hatchback for HD runs - it'll hold sheets of plywood or 12 foot long boards. First time I've used the Genesis ski pass-through for cargo. I also use it to run a CB antenna cable when I make long highway drives.

It's used as a port for when you add an additional SUB. ;)

It's also good in case you can't get into the trunk. Happened to me. I used a broom handle through this hole to reach and activate the internal trunk release.

What kept you from unlocking the trunk?

It's a cat door for long trips. ;)

Put the food, water, and kitty litter in the trunk. Morris rides up front with you. When he needs to do his "business", he goes through the "cat door". Smells stay in the trunk. Morris enjoys a ride up front with you.

Thought it was the access panel to feed the people that you've abducted!

It's for trying to maneuver your snow brush out, without unpacking the entire trunk when you leave Kentucky in the morning at 60F, and get to Detroit in the afternoon just in time for 2 feet of snow and -10F:(

The good news - it worked:)

Trunk Monkey is the best response to date

In our most recent case, it was the method used to hauling home a nine foot shade umbrella for our lanai.

I wish the back seats would fold down. I know ... that conjures all sorts of engineering and liability issues. I want a vehicle that transforms to my needs at the moment.:)

Trunk Monkey won't work in the Genny. Too big. Perhaps there's a Trunk Python? That would be pretty cool!
