Well once again living in the southern states bits me in the a$$. A deer runs into my car. Luckly this time its only the rear door instead of my front end.
That map is misleading because it is based on the entire state. Some of the Worst states are up North.
That map is misleading because it is based on the entire state.
I was once driving in southern Colorado between Pueblo and Durango at night. I must have seen at least a dozen deer cross the 2-lane road in front of my car. I would never, ever, travel on that road at night again.
Another bad spot was in Southern Utah where I saw way more than a dozen deer in a 50 mile stretch, including about 3-4 freshly killed ones on the road that collided with traffic, but had not been removed yet.
But because the vast majority of people in those states live in a big city, they both rank lower than many other states on that State Farm map.
You guys with whitetails....pussies! Come out West and have a run-in with a Mule Deer whydoncha? Or, better yet, an Elk. Lots of 'em in the mountains of AZ (yes, we have plenty of mountains too).![]()
At least in the South you don't have to drive your Genesis in snow in the winter.
I am plenty familiar with Mule Deer. However, they are the same size as Whitetail deer.
The Whitetails I used to see all over the place in VA were the size of large dogs. The Mule Deer here in AZ are about the same size as a small horse - quite a big larger.
Did I mention we also have bears? Don't want to hit one of those either.
That was Bambi. Bambi's mother is a lot larger. The Whitetails I used to see all over the place in VA were the size of large dogs.
Looks like a >$10k hit. Sorry.
