  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I've had difficulty piecing together whether my vehicle is up to date with regard to Software, Firmware, Nav App, Map, and Vehicle System versions. Despite reading discussions here and other Genesis forums, I'm still baffled. I know I received some type of OTA update last autumn, and suspect I received an OTA update - perhaps for Vehicle System software? - in recent days. Earlier this week I received a message indicating an update had failed, but I only saw the message once. Today I looked at the version info, and it appears the Vehicle Systems version contains a Dec 2022 date (assuming I'm interpreting the numbers correctly).

Listed below are the versions of all firmware and software systems for my vehicle. I own a US Advanced Model GV60.

Can anyone confirm if I am missing recent updates on any systems? I am also generally curious to see what versions others are currently running.

Platform: cclC
Updated 10-31-2022
Model: JWAE.PCBLC.US
Software Version: JW.USA.cclC.001.002.220801
Over-the-Air (OTA) Update: Available
Firmware Version: JW.USA.220207.MICOM
Navigation App Version: cclC.NAM.GNS.220725.1212N97
Map Version: NAM.15.41.54.016.911.0
Vehicle System Version: JW.US.ECUOTA.001.221205

Many thanks for any input members may have.

Ok mine are as follows
Software, mine differs at the end--003.221021
Firmware is JW.USA.51.220621.MICOM
NAV APP---221019.1238N93
Map version---15.47.48.023.911.0
Veh sys vers is the same.

I would try downloading from the website onto a flashdrive. Also, maybe resetting your radio headunit would help. (Press and hold the map and setup buttons until it resets, you do not lose anything)

Oh, and mine shows updated on 10-28-22.

Mine is a performance version. I do not think it matters, but who knows.

Thank you! I do have my first maintenance visit this week, primarily for tire rotation I believe. But I plan to ask the dealership about this as well. I haven't yet attempted a flash drive manual update, but may soon. I had been hoping ETA updates would happen on their own. Had not thought of the idea of resetting the radio head-unit. Thanks for that tip too.

My versions are the same as @SoCalStinger

If I'm not mistaken, the one and only OTA we received back in October 2022 is not related to the nav. The nav related update is downloaded using the navigation updater tool. The OTA came first, and then I did the update via USB a few days later. See the links below.

My car also had a mysterious update failure message a few weeks back. It persisted for 3 days before disappearing. It is a mystery when the car was updated to JW.US.ECUOTA.001.221205, assuming that 221205 is a date.

Thanks for the update link. I think I was just confused on the NAV part, thinking it was part of the October update when it wasn't.

I had the same thought as you with regard to the recent "update failure" message. I am pretty sure the Vehicle System Version software is a more recent change because I had looked at all the version numbers back in October / November (though unfortunately didn't document them). Even at the time, I suspected some number sequences represented dates. So I would certainly have noticed at the time if the 221205 sequence had appeared. For that reason, I do think it updated since then. I am hoping it perhaps simply successfully updated sometime after I saw the update failure message one time last week.

You have an older version of the software. You can find additional details here:

Just to close this out, for my original question anyhow. First, thanks to all who responded. Your insights and observations helped me determine I was lacking an update, confirmed my own understanding, and pointed me in the right direction on getting everything up to date.

I did apply the manual update, which appears to have loaded successfully. My versions now match the ones SoCalStinger posted a couple of days ago. The dealer also confirmed all was up to date according to their systems. They did explain that at times their data may sometimes lag brand new releases for some period of time, unless there should ever be an update deemed to be critical. That wasn't precisely their wording, but the gist of what the service manager said.

They didn't actually complete the software update during my visit, as I had already loaded it onto my own flash drive. They said they could during future visits if I wanted, but to give them a bit of a heads up when scheduling my appointment (I suspect so they can have a flash ready on-site ... I think I'm only the second GV60 they've serviced at this point in time). I live in the DC area, and went to EV-certified Genesis of Alexandria (VA) for the service appointment. It was a great experience.

Oh, and as I was leaving, the sales manager chatted with me for a few minutes, asking a few questions about our experience with the vehicle thus far. He indicated they've been able to order them for customers for a month of two now, but were recently informed by corporate that they should start receiving their own allotments soon, within a month or so (I think he said starting the middle of next month, but may have misheard that part).

You're fortunate to have a service department you can trust. I absolutely positively will not trust my dealer to touch any of my cars. After buying my GV60 from my dealer, I brought my Ioniq PHEV over for a regular service which was just an oil change and tire rotation. They overfilled using the wrong oil, did not top off other fluids, and WAY over tightened the lug nuts. On one of the wheels, I could not break the nuts loose with a 2' breaker bar. The specified torque is 85 pounds on my Hyundais. I rotated the tires myself on another car that required 150 pounds which came off without too much effort. I can only imagine how much torque was applied when they used their air tools. Who knows if there's any damage done to the hub. I will never return to that dealer for anything.

That does sound bad. I’m always wary of my first dealer interactions, and in the past have driven dozens of miles further to have service done at one I trust. Hope you can find one that will take better care and be more knowledgeable.

The thing that most impressed me with Genesis of Alexandria is just how well they communicated with me during my service visit. Though he didn’t recall, I had spoken with the sales manager briefly back when Genesis was first releasing the GV60 in the US. At the time I was inquiring if they could possibly order one, and he had explained that regrettably they couldn’t. But from the exchange I had a good feeling about the dealership.

So for them to go out of their way now to answer questions and engage me about the vehicle despite me having purchased out of state was quite reassuring.

UK based here - just downloading the 22nd November Navigation update. For those who have already applied it (think this came out a week after I got my car) how long did it take to apply ?

OK to answer my own question I think it was about 45 minutes, though was thrown as it is in three stages (does not advise you in advance), each goes to 100%, with the middle one being the longest, the last just a minute or two.

I was in the middle of typing "allow at least 30 minutes". Signifcantly less time than it took to do the download to the USB!

That is great. My GV60 purchasing experience was quite different. I hadn't met any of the managers. My entire interaction with the dealership up until signing all the final documents and handing the financing guy the bank check was with my salesman, and the finance guy didn't even pitch at me any bogus services or add ons. I actually like that a lot.

When I discovered that the tech over torqued the lug nuts, I went back to complain. The guy I complained to looked me in the eyes and said torquing the lug nuts with their air tools is their "standard practice". I pray I'll never have to bring my GV60 there for any service.
