What videos do you want?

Hello everybody!

I have a new HD camcorder.

Please tell me what videos you would like to see of the Genesis V8...if any.

I have looked on YOUTUBE and STREETFIRE.NET and it is the same lame videos all the time.

For example:
0-60
0-100 (Im not going above 100...even though I know it will!)
Stock exhaust revs

Tell me and Ill do my best to get it done when the wife lets me drive it!! HA!

If I dont hear anything I wont do the videos and we can cancel this thread.

Its just that I am FREAKIN PUMPED about this car and I want to get it out there especially to LEXUS and other rivals. This same car in a Lexus with a v-6 would have cost me almost $48...why...for a name! Some people say its the dealership experience. Well let me tell you...Hyundai is doing it right! I will get the loaner car, the cup of coffee, and smiles just like they do!

I want to hear the before and after sounds of an intake system (see the RIDES Genesis for an example) and an aftermarket exhaust. I think MagnaFlow has one in the works.

I also want to see before and after handling videos of your suspension upgrades. I think Eibach is working on a kit for the Genesis.

Of course, I would LOVE to see any sort of forced induction or power-adder (spray and pray baby!). Dyno charts and videos, etc...

And once you get that stupid ESC disabled, I want to see some big, nasty slides.

That should get you started....

WOW! Thanks for the list!

All of that stuff you mentioned will have to be slid under the table. Again, this is my wifes car and I can pretty much say the exhaust is out of the question. Sorry!

Now, the esc and intake can be taken car of! As soon as the code is cracked Ill do some spinning and drifting! And as soon as an aftermarket intake is available ill be in line to buy it.

I am also looking in to the stock exhaust as well. I have not looked under the vehicle yet but if there is any "mini" mufflers on it between the cats and the mufflers they will be coming off.

I took them off of my Tundra's stock exhaust and it really made a good mellow sound. Every now and then, on the genesis, the "whisper valves" are a little open (im only assuming) and I get this incredible low rumble between 2500 and 3000 rpm. I am really curious as to what all that entails. I Will look deeper into the stock exhaust system!

This is the stock sedan exhaust configuration. From the looks of it, I believe its a true dual exhaust.

Yes, it really does look like TRUE DUAL exhaust! That is rare these days.

I am curious as to where these "whisper valves" are and if the big square in the schematic is a heat shield or something else.

I see the sensors and Im thinking that the BIG ROUND things are the cats (labeled #2). If that is so, then I can almost assume that the round tubes just after the sensors are the whisper valves....Hmmm....very interesting!

Im going to have to have a talk with the mechanic at the hyundai place. I need to become buddies with him like I did @ Toyota so I can squeeze some good info out of him.

There are some issues with a MAC, none with Internet Explorer. This place is a treasure trove of useful stuff, for the guys who like to read shop manuals, get schematics, etc. The "Master Search" function is awesome. For example:

Components

1. Front muffler (LH/RH)

That's also where you get electronic copies of all the manuals.

After you do a search and get a results set, some of the choices will cause internet explorer to crash & shut down. Then you have to start over. I haven't figured out yet if it random, or a specific set of documents. Annoying, but not our job to debug their system.
