What's with all the pinging

I felt like I was in the hunt for Red October while using the GPS tonight

There was an annoying ping that came from the GPS every time I came to a turn,
I am sure it is a setting that I need to find and turn off.

That is the alert tone to let you know that you are at the turning point. Right turn next right.......Ping Ping (turn). Always make certain it is not a one way street than the turn would be the next turn that is not one way. It can be turned down but you will also be turning down the voice command.

I'll be using it tonight. I've never noticed that before, so I'll have to watch for that one.

LOL.....first thing I noticed when using the GPS.....my daughter said to me: "Daddy, that is the fasten your selt belts ping from airplaines"........and I'll be darned if that is not exactly what it sounds like......I do not believe I can deactive except through lowering the volume.....but may take another peek at the manual to confirm.
