  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Does anyone know if the wheel speed sensors are adjustable? I recently had one replaced under warranty and now when I go around corners too fast the traction control kicks in an stops acceleration and applies braking. Not safe when your trying to get on a turnpike. I now have to turn off the traction control before getting on highways that have a large turn to navigate onto the highwa.

That sounds bad. I would ask the dealer that replaced the sensor and get it diagnosed.

It sounds more like the dealership or shop replacing the sensor knocked your steering angle out of alignment. The sensors don't have an adjustability feature, it's purely calculated by measured wheel speed vs measured steering angle and yaw sensor input.

Is this steering angle your talking about another sensor or the actual steering wheel. The steering wheel is straight.

There is a sensor on the steering shaft that tells the car which direction you are steering in. If the wheel speed sensors and/or the yaw sensor do/does not agree that you are going in that direction, the stability control system will apply brakes to different wheels and/or reduce engine power to try and get the car to go in that direction.

While Suburbazine is probably right that this is the stability control kicking in instead of the traction control, the possibility still exists that the new speed sensor is incorrectly installed or defective. Also, it is possible that your problem was never the wheel speed sensor itself, but instead there is a problem with the tooth ring that the sensor reads. My son had some work done on his truck once, and after that the ABS would trigger a lot of the times when he was braking (normal force). We looked at it, and the person doing the work on it had somehow slightly bent the tooth ring on one of the front wheels.
