  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

OK, so I bought a set of Rims to put my winter tires on for my 16 Sedan 3.8. the Rims were on a Sonata before and were the same 5 x 114.3 however they will not work as they rub on the brake caliper. What is the actual dimensions that I need to look for when shopping for the wheels that will fit this car? is there a certain offset? these are a 40 offset to technically should fit from what I can find.

Probably have a hard time finding anyone here who knows what the offset is. Maybe try placing a straight edge across the backside of the bolting surface and measure to the spokes where they rub?

Your best bet is get proper wheels. But if you're stuck with the ones you have, you could consider spacers.

I see Autozone has 5/16" spacers for $14 each. Any thicker than that and you'd probably need new longer lug nuts, adding to the cost.

For a couple dollars in washers (and some cheap digital calipers), you could add washers until you get clearance to find out how thick of a spacer you need.

To the contrary - from 2015-2018 there were several DH owners on here who were doing wheel and suspension mods to their G80s - and offset did come up regularly. If @derricklyonscan does a forum search for "g80 offset" he is going to get several pages of results. I know I saw them back in the day - but as I never did wheel mods to my 2015 - I did not pay attention to it. I was going to put the front turbine wheels off the Equus onto my DH - but I never got around to it before I sold it.
