  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

When to jump on a G70 - 2021 currently on-lot or wait for the 2022s to arrive?

Curious what the general thoughts are here - I'm relatively prepared to make a purchase in the near future and am debating about whether to wait for a 2022 (and get relatively little discount) or head to a dealership now and try to really haggle on a 2021 3.3T still on the lot.

What would you guys do in this position?

Watching the news, there is a shortage of many cars and dealers are not giving many good deals. Of course, this is a broad news story so no idea how it affects Genesis and your particular dealer. Much is attributed to the chip shortage.

If you are willing to invest a couple of hours you can at least check out what your market is doing. Unless it is a really good buy, may be better to wait but as you already know, won't be a big discount.

depends on if you can find the car you want or not.

the dealers around me have a shortage of the g70s, especially the 3.3 sports, and dont think they are getting any others with the 2022s coming out soon so they arent giving any deals, and probably wont until late this year when they are trying to get rid of old inventory. i had to go out of state to get mine. and finding deals on them is even harder unless you go somewhere that has what you want but isnt a big sell for that market. (went south to get an awd sport because they dont sell many awd cars.)

if you like the 2021 over the 2022, then see if you can find one. if you like the 2022, wait for the 2022, but be warned that a lot of dealers are taking deposits on them already and have most their 2022 inventory spoken for. it was a 2-3 month wait after release to get a 2022 at my 2 closest dealers since their allotment was already spoken for.
