  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

About when will 2010 Sedans be available and will the big discounts from MSRP still be available? Also any guess on financing rates then (not lease) and should no prepayment penalty loans be available?
I would like to buy a 2010 this year and pay it off next year when I will have to take a "Required Minimum Distribution" on my IRA.

I'm wondering the same thing. I'm ready to buy now as long as the msrp doesn't go up and they make some improvement to the suspension.

Any more comments? I'm still wondering when Hyundai will put the 2010's on the lot.

My dealer said December 09 for 2010 model. I am not sure if he had firm information or he just pulled this date out from his rear. Seeing that they are still manufacturing 2009 models, I would think it would be close to Dec.

December?!?!? I'm going to hope he was just trying to SELL the 2009 model for anyone that might consider waiting for the 2010. I really don't want to be waiting that long.

Others have posted July 09 MFG dates for 09 Gen.... When is the last time a car shipped unchanged for the next model year?

Just wondering when they would have time for a factory shutdown for tooling updates...

Since the changes are so minor, I doubt they have to shut down the factory for more than a few hours (if that).

Two points on this matter :
2009 Veracruzes just started comeing in.
It takes only 24 hours to turn around production at US factory, from Sonata to Santa Fe; or back.

The law says that a given model-year car can only be sold on one January 1. So, theoretically, a particular car could be sold for 1 year + 364 days and be the same model year, if you introduced in on January 2, 2011, and sold it through December 31, 2012, for example.

I suspect Hyundai is not too worried about model year here. As someone rightly stated, the changes are going to be subtle enough that they will barely interrupt the assembly line. And they are clearly running through the summer, probably to make the '09 final tally look better. They may also be doing this just to maintain a more measured pace of production of their flagship.

My guess, and it's just a guess, is we'll see '10s right before Thanksgiving. I doubt that the dealer who commented that the cars were coming in December had any real information...Hyundai is notoriously close-lipped about product releases, and has a history of off-calendar (read: unusually late) product launches.

I'd say, the later the better...means they've had more time to listen to all the thoughtful folks on this forum and make improvements to the product.

Just picked up my new Pearl White 4.6 with Tech package yesterday. The dealer told me they expected the 10's in September. Also said there would be some changes...

$1700.00 uptick in base price, XM for 6 months instead of 12. Didn't give me any specifics on anything else.

BTW...This car ROCKS! Ordered my rear badge and painted spoiler this morning. :D

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
First, congrats on the new Genesis! I love the white. Personally, I've had a white car for years but I think just to change things my next car will be black. I just find the white very elegant looking.

Anyway, thanks for passing on the information. September is when I hope for the 10's. However, for the increase in price Hyundai better have done some positive improvements.

If a dealer told him this, I'd take it with a grain of salt. Sales are flat (or down) and the exchange rate has only improved since launch. I see zero reason why the pricing will go up unless it also includes addt'l feature content (e.g. adaptive cruise, cooled passenger seat, 8-speed automatic, etc.).

Good point. I'll keep my fingers crossed. Now if they improved the suspension, added a power trunk, improved on the bluetooth capability, added a cooled passenger seat, etc. I would be happy to pay an increase in price.

NO offense... but what laws you are referring to?
I had picked up my 2005 Audi S4 Avant in July 2004.... ;-)

He didn't say that was a problem. JamesD said a particular model year can only be sold on one January 1st. That means a 2005 model cannot be sold on both Jan 1, 2004 and Jan 1, 2005. There is no law against selling a 2005 model on January 1, 2004 (although that would be unlikely).

Personally, I don't know what the law is (I assume JamesD is talking about US law), but just clarifying what JamesD said.
