  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
    If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

which speed sensor for failed "smart cruise control"

Because those two are NOT related in functionality You may want to consider replacing your Smart Cruise Control Module I can help you get a fully functional one for your vehicle for a reasonable price
I'm thinking about it. I need to be 100% sure that's the problem though. I can get one on ebay for $200 but if that's not the problem then that's money down the drain

Is your ABS light on?
Is your speedometer working?
If no and yes, then it's not a speed sensor.

Why take such wild guesses at it? It has identified a problem area, get the diagnostic codes read and follow the troubleshooting flowchart for each one.
Hey boss what if there are no codes? It flashes red signal on the dash if I try to use but diagnostics aren't showing on a scanner with a hyundai codes program. Can i pull a fuse and engage a code? What site do you use so I can also follow the flowchart for Anything thing I work on for my genesis from now on... that would be choice bro. Please and thanks

There should be codes. You would need a fairly specific or expensive scan tool to be able to read from the cruise module. It may require the factory tool.
Hyundai has a factory service manual site that you can subscribe too that is somewhat expensive. AllData is cheaper, but I don't know if they have as much detail as the factory site. (I would try AllData first though.)

Sorry to re-kindle this conversation for my own personal/selfish reasons but I am having SCC issues too. This was after a windshield was replaced. The windshield is third-party but Safelite claims that they successfully calibrated the camera three times. Still, the cruise will sometimes set and then an audible alarm will go off with the SCC discontinue or disconnected warning light showing up OR it won't allow the cruise to be set at all.

If it will allow the cruise to be set some of the time and subsequently turn off does that narrow down my troubleshooting for this same issue? As a note, I have already changed out the SCC unit on the car last year.

The SCC does not use the camera. So you have multiple issues. I would recommend you to the best automotive electrician in your area

This is a huge bummer. Thanks for the input.

No ABS light and speedometer is working so it's not a speed sensor.
* Speed sensors on all 4 wheels.
* HECU (ABS) unit.
* Steering wheel position sensor OR ECS accelerometer (not sure, but it slows in turns).
* Radar module.
* ECS system.
* TCS system.
* Parking brake.
* Brake pedal switch.
* Cruise Control buttons.
These are all of the other places that the issue might be. Is it correct to assume that the ABS light and speedometer are working so that I can remove speed sensors on all four wheels and the ABS unit should also be OK?

Yes, you can eliminate the wheel speed sensors as being a possible cause. Still, I wouldn't remove them as having a speedometer, ABS, traction control, stability control, and so on are all important too.
