  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Who here mainly browses with a desktop or notebook computer?

Flip phone? 🤣

Yep !!! Smartphones are so packed full of features that duplicate (typically in 1/2 arsed fashion) devices I already own they skimp on the primary function which is to make calls. I find myself leaving it at home way more than I did with the flip just because it's too big to comfortably pocket. Also, the stupid thing needs recharging every other day even tho it just sits idle during business hours (9 - 6) with the occasional call or text.

Once I complete closing down the business (in progress) I will be retiring the Samsung S22 & switching back to my old flip.

Love it. Although I use the features of my smart phone regularly, I do miss the small size and simplicity of my old flip phones - which may be why I can't bring myself to toss them, haha. "You can have my flip phone when you can pry it from my cold, dead hands" 😂😂

I still have an old StarTAC. :p

And other than the video call - you could do that with a flipper. :) For video calls - there's always the desktop or laptop.
I'm not going to regress. Texting is much easier with a smartphone. So are other functions. Lays in a holder on my belt.

Lays in a holder on my belt.

I'm not gonna lie - but some time ago when I first saw your avatar pic on here - I literally envisioned you at about 6ft-2, in that shirt & tie with some black slacks and a phone holster on your belt. :D

The 'holder' on my belt is reserved for another tool. Agree texting is much easier on a smartphone, but I hate texting with a passion 😧.
Do it now because customers all want to text their 'stream of thoughts/questions' rather than collect them and have 1 call or email & get it all done at once  Anyway, once the business is gone, I'll have zero need to text !! Neighbors, friends or family that need to get ahold of me can call either the landline or flip phone, email or just stop by.

Not quite 6' but can always use 3" more.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
I use my desktop computer in my "computer room", unless I have to watch my mom upstairs, then it's the laptop.
(Mom has dementia and likes to wander. Very high fall risk.)

Chrome/Desktop - way too small on a phone and can't easily copy tabs that way..

Desktop/laptop users... I'm working on a little project/website and wanted to know if any of you would like to create an account on it - and upload a few pictures of your Genesis. It can be accessed via mobile browser as well, but that's not entirely ready for testing yet.

Any takers? I could use a hand...

I'd be willing to lend a hand, but don't have any pics of my car. Could snap a few in the garage but they won't be great.

Sure. Let me know.

99% vintage Samsung S9 Android phone lol.

All websites show up worse on the phone, sometimes on purpose as they find phone users don't do price comparisons, so they get charged more.
A good word for mobile apps/sites is crippleware. They are intentionally worse for various reasons.
There are exceptions, some companies are app only, and in those cases the desktop site is usually worse. Another exception is bank sites/apps: Both app and desktop site are crippled, where you have to go to the desktop to perform some functions, and the app to perform others.

I hate using anything on phone. It feels like I'm always missing functionality and information. Want to compare 5 products using a spreadsheet and data from websites? Switching between browser tabs on the phone is painful and time consuming, never mind trying to update a spreadsheet with the information...

When its a longer conversation that started on the mobile I will open the chat tool on the desktop so I can continue out of frustration with typing on phone...
