I'm the first to admit I'm not a big fan of coupe-like SUVs. There are precious few that seem to have been able to pull off that swooping roofline in an SUV form that doesn't look contrived and awkward.
And I don't think I'm 100% convinced that Genesis has managed it either....
BUT...
after checking out some YouTube videos about the GV80 Coupe, I must say, the new seats do look pretty nice. And they're finally giving the front passenger the same seat that the driver gets including Ergo-Motion. The steering wheel looks slick as well. I'm not sure if I like the big single-screen design but I'm glad that the screen has a thin bezel unlike the Mercedes screens.
I can't imagine getting a "sporty" SUV with anything less than the most powerful motor in it, but if I recall correctly even the electrically-supercharged engine from the G90 (which is going to be offered with the Coupe) only puts out about 405 hp. I've driven a G90 and while the power delivery is incredibly smooth I think the Coupe needs something like 450 to 500 hp to back up its looks.
What do you folks think? Is anyone here considering it?
PS. Here's Alex on Autos' walk-around of it.
