Why is it next to impossible to try and install an update to the G70(2019)?

They say on the installer wont let me use a usb, must be SD formatted to fat32 under 32gb. But my head unit only accepts USB, but won't work if an SD card uses a USB adapter

Im not spending more money on a 32gb usb. Has anyone else run into this issue?

Called suport and they essentially said to just order it offline because their system says the opposite of the installer.

Also for anyone else I have the head unit that does not have the visible SD card slot.

If you have a 2019 G70 there is an SD card slot. Above the ventilation controls are seven buttons and in the middle is one that says "SD Map". Pry this up from the bottom and the SD card in slot is revealed. Remove card, insert new card ordered from Genesis or downloaded to your computer and install. I have the same car and have done this numerous times.
Check you manual for precise directions.

Yeah I don't have the SD map. That's a button I do not have. This is non-navigation model. I'm just trying to update the software

Same here with my 2019. I've never had an issue upgrading/updating.

Mine is giving me tons of issues. I don't have the sdmap button or slot in the front.

Did the 2019 G70 Advanced trim (lowest trim) have no map? I find that difficult to believe but I am not Mr. Firecracker with his vehicle. Does the manual for the car say "If equipped" for the map screen or SDMap cover on button strip meaning optional or unavailable on some models? I could check my manual but it is his car and manual that is important.

It doesn't say if equipped. I don't have navigation, but the software needs to be updated before connected services will work per genesis support. But i can't upgrade the software lol

Another thought: I "believe" that if the sd card is removed from the card slot then no map info is provided on the screen. The screen has ventilation and other information instead. USB for update is not anything I recall ever mentioned here for this car, in this generation. There is some small piece of information missing in this thread.
edit: This is the 2019 G70 U. S. A. version of the car we are discussing?

I agree. I don’t think there is any Genesis that doesn’t have navigation, no matter the trim level

Consider yourself lucky. Since the last update my HUD won't maintain it's setting. Absolutely worthless now.

It does not have nav by default. It has the radio headunit, not the nav headunit installed.
