  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Has anyone had any experience activating and utilizing the wi-fi feature in BlueLink?

The manual and my experience seem to indicate that you can utilize the WiFi option to hook up to existing WiFi spots (home, cell, etc.) to download apps to the entertainment system faster than the normal BlueLink Cell network.

Does anyone know how to enter the Wi-Fi password, etc...? Wi-Fi is mentioned on page 12 of the Bluelink manual, but there are no additional steps that I can see.

...if there were any apps to download :(

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
True, but I'd prefer to have the car automatically connect when I pull into my garage. That way I at least have the option to check and download them (when ready) at a decent download speed. I'd definitely prefer to download an megabytes per second vs kilobytes per second.

Once you turn on the WiFi feature, you can go into the WiFi option and it will search for any nearby WiFi hotspots. You select the one you want and then it will prompt you for the password. Once it is connected you will have a WiFi signal indicator on the screen and you can then proceed to the app download area. As mentioned, the selection is very limited right now.

Okay, so I just enabled Wi-Fi. unfortunately there are no, as in Zero, apps available for download. Well, at least I am ready for when there are apps available.

Maybe this just shows that Hyundai is working so hard on getting CarPlay and Android Auto ready, that they haven't gotten any apps built yet.

Mine automatically connects when I pull into my garage - just nothing to do once connected!

OK. Thanks! So its just for downloading apps? I was able to connect to my home wi-fi, so at least that is in place.

Is there a quick or automatic method to turn off the wifi in the car when not say at a trusted location like ones house? Too easy to be hacked or attempted hacks while running around. Do not think that cannot happen.

No there is no " quick" turn off wifi, you need to go trough settings, but why would you want to turn it off, the car is not like router who sends out wifi signals that someone can connect to your car. It otherwise you have to connect your car to the net. I heard that there is wifi 3G integrated to work with Verizon, but it's not available for use yet, it's hidden, and may be later with some software updates it will be.

Odd, I actually grabbed two apps. Of two available. One was for identifying music and became available most places and the other I don't remember what it was. I can go look if anyone is interested.

I did have the nav system update applied within the past couple weeks, not sure if that makes any difference.

What was the revision of your Map Upgrade?

There were 2 apps for non-ultimate models (Soundhound and Aha?). There are no apps for download if you have an Ultimate Model.

Huh. I HAVE an Ultimate and it shows two available apps on the screen. I didn't download as I wasn't sure if there would be a charge or not. Are you saying it will show them but not let you download them or should it not be showing them if I have an Ultimate, and how/why does the Ultimate package change what apps are available?
