  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello from San Diego

My wife drives the Genesis and has put me in charge of new tires...which is probably a good thing. The 2009 4.8 has 53K on it. She purchased Pirelli Net Zero 235 50 R18 at 36K. The rear tires have 5K left if that.

I went back to Discount Tires. The warranty on the tires is 45K (I am surprised) so they have offered to give her a discount of about 50% on any new tires.

Every time I ride with my new bride I think that we have just robbed a bank. However 22K on Pirelli is just sad. I run the ATR Pirelli Scorpions on my 4Runner and I have 50K and 20K tread left.

Goals are somewhat longer life of the tire and competence at speed. We are in San Diego and she drives almost all freeway miles.

Thank you much for your tips. Now the real story is I like the hot Korean Rocket.

Lots of info on tirees in the tire section of this forum. I prefer the Bridgestone turanza Serenity. Have 41,000 miles on current set and about 3k to 5 k left. My 2011 4.6 now has just undert 59,000 miles on it. Similar miles as you, but around metro Atlanta GA.

Replaced my OEM Dunlops at 20K with Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus from Discount Tire. Have 54K now and looks to be at least 10K remaining; very pleased with both performance and low noise from the Michelins. I am known for driving like a bank robber being pursued. I rotate tires every 5K miles and keep the inflation in spec. with weekly checks.
