  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Okay, so very technical question, but will the navigation system on the standard class gen 4 and premium class gen2 support sdxc? Right now, they are using a 32gb sdhc card. My question is do the systems have the firmware for sdxc cards for future map updates that are more than 32 gb?

I have NO idea what you are asking about....

Just looked this up
Secure Digital Extended Capacity
A Secure Digital Extended Capacity (SDXC) card is a very small flash memory card that has greater storage capacity than the original SD (Secure Digital) memory cards. SD and SDXC cards facilitate portable storage among devices such as smartphones, eBooks, digital cameras, camcorders, music players and computers.

From what I've read here, I don't think it will be supported. Geneses seemed adamant you needed a 32 gig SD. That could change.

Is SD card same as SDXC?
Because SDXC uses a different file system called exFAT and it works differently than standard SD cards, this format is NOT backwards compatible with host devices that only take SD (128MB to 2GB) or host devices that only take SDHC (4GB to 32GB). Most host devices built after 2010 should be SDXC compatible.

Can a SDXC card work in a SD slot?
Older devices that pre-date SDXC's introduction might therefore not be compatible, so be sure to check your product's specifications. Devices are backwards compatible, so an SDXC-compatible device can use SDHC and SD cards. An SDHC-compatible device can use SDHC and SD cards, but will not be able to use SDXC cards.

Yeah. If I remember correctly you used to only need a 16gb SD card but that was sdhc as well. I guess I could try to make a 64 go sd card of the current map update (my vehicle is on the current one) and see if the system reads it. I believe if I recall correctly when I look on my computer the as card was formatted as exFAT.
