Bought a new 2025 G70 in January. My only real complaint with the car has been excessive wind noise/whistling coming from the passenger side of the windshield, door or sunroof. I thought about taking it back to the dealer but it’s difficult for me to get there and I was sure they’d either tell me it’s normal or they’d start tearing things apart and make it worse.
Meanwhile, my dealer in Raleigh (Johnson Genesis of Cary), who got the car I wanted from the dealer in Charlotte, sent me an email with a link saying I had lifetime access to the CARFAX for my new car. I looked at the CARFAX and I discovered that while the car was in Charlotte it had a glass repair at a shop that specializes in windshield replacement. Obviously that made me think the noise came from whatever work had been done.
I poked around a bit and discovered that the vertical plastic molding with weatherstripping on the passenger side (pictured below) had some play in it compared to the drivers side. Evidently it has four clips that snap in place but it wasn’t properly snapped down. Applied a little pressure and all four clips snapped down tight. Wind noise gone!
