If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. Just three days as a 3.8/premium pkg owner (red/cashmere). Are all those wing badges the same quality? $14 for the trunk one sounds cheap.

Also considering adding chrome side trim. That's a real appearance boost in my opinion. Your opinions?

Stay with the Hyundai OE wings etc. and you will get first quality. The wings are the ones used by Hyundai in Korea and some other countries.

Just make sure they come in the Hyundai OEM packaging and you're good to go. My front, back and wheel badges all came with it from the factory in Korea - they are plastic, but really REALLY nice-looking.

The steering wheel emblem is not factory, nor the same quality, but then again, I'm not willing to spend hundreds of dollars for a factory steering wheel airbag unit... though they look MINT.

Here's the pictures from my set:

Thanks, hood and trunk emblem now on order. Only the trunk one will be mounted. The hood emblem gets to live indoors in my den, office, or garage.

I ordered to Wing badges & chrome side trim from Korean Auto Imports. It took forever to come but I'm happy with it. I plan on installing in in the spring. It came in OE Hyundai / Kia packaging. I think it will look great!

So, my hood and trunk wings arrived yesterday from Koreanautoimports.com (aka Sherwood Automotive) in AZ. The wings sent are both the SAME size. Isn't the hood emblem supposed to be smaller????

Both look good and have 3M tape affixed. One emblem has posts on the back and the other has no posts whatsoever. As a matter of fact, where posts would be, the adhesive backer is visible.

Neither item has any indication that they are Hyundai OEM parts. Only the 3M tape shows a brand logo. Both wings were packaged in a bag sealed with a Sherwood Automotive labeled tape.

So, what did I receive, the good stuff, or reproductions?

Sounds like you got the repro's. OEM come in a Hyundai/Kia bag with Korean writting on it. yes, the wings should be two different sizes/shapes. One for the hood and one for the trunk.

Looks like you may not have gotten the official Hyundai KDM badges, but that's just salesmanship so that Koreanautoimports.com can stay open and be available when we need them.

The hood badge is supposed to be larger than the trunk badge.

I would affix both to the dead pedal and order new parts from a reputable dealer.

Pics of the emblems.

Trunk badge is flat and has the larger posts. It's wings are also swept up slightly more than the hood one.

Hood badge is slightly curved with smaller posts.

Perhaps the domestic supplier has conveniently taken the hood badge out of the package and removed the posts for you. Then repackaged them all in their packaging. It would seem like a smart thing for them to do rather than have every customer that buys them call back baffled by the pins on the hood emblem and then gripe that they have to remove them on their own...

That seems like a reasonable explanation, since I know that particular company definitely did sell genuine KDM badges at one time.

Folks here have indicated that Koreanautoimports.com is a reputable dealer. They had assured me they were sending OEM goods. Anybody else having similar problems with them?

So, supposedly I got the PRADA badges, not the old style cr@p that most of you guys have. ,-)

Here is the reply I received from Koreanautoimports.com

"Thank you for your contact. Regarding your inquiry our parts
department has confirmed that the badges you received are OEM.
Please note that you received the NEW 2012 Prada wing badges
(exactly as advertised on our website) not the OLD badges. 2009-2011
Genesis Sedan had a SMALL rear badge and a LARGE front badge. The NEW 2012 Prada model Genesis Sedan rear badge (which you received) is much larger than the 09-11 "small" rear badge. Further, as you can see from the following ad:

http://www.koreanautoimports.com/store/product_info.php?products_id=7126

The front badge of the 2012 Prada model is the same as the rear badge. You
received what is advertised. We are not selling the OLD front wing
badge with upward angled tips. Please let me know if you have any further
questions regarding this item or your order."

Today I found a great car shop here in Midlothian, VA (Richmond) called "The Interior Guys." They do interior rebuilds mostly, but some exterior jobs too.
They installed my new Prada wings on my trunk. No muss, no fuss, just $20 cash. It makes no sense to get your hands dirty for 20 bucks!

Bought the Prada wings from Koreanautoimports.com

I may do it all over again with the chrome side trim. They also do dead pedals and repadding, or recovering, console lids to make them elbow friendly.

Give them a call!

By the way, one of the "Interior Guys" installers thought the wings emblem looked like a Chrysler badge. Not the image I was going for. :-(

No... he's talking about some supposed NEW BADGE SET that KDM offers.

Allegedly, the wings are from the Genesis Prada model; the front badge has no posts, so it's "peel-and-stick", and the rear wing is bigger (same size as front) or something.

I don't know... I'd love to see a comparison of the two products...

Some people say that to me as well, it does not look nothing like the Chrysler badge, I'm guessing these are people who know nothing about cars lol.

But 95% of the feedback I get think it's a Bentley.
