  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis Model Type
2G Genesis Sedan (2015-2016)
The factory spec wheels for 2015-2016 Genesis is:
245/45/R18 for the 3.8
245/40/R19 front and 275/35/R19 rear for the 5.0

I would like to know if anyone with the 5.0 has tried to fit minus size tires and wheels, and what their experience has been. In particular, I'd like to know if:
i) Did you go for 245/45/R18 all around?
ii) Is it possible to fit a similar staggered fit? i.e. 245/45/R18 front and 275/40/R18 rear
iii) What tires would you recommend in either of those sizes?
iv) Is it possible/easy to transport your extra set of wheels & tires in the trunk with seats folded
v) What was the cost?

Thanks!

I went 245/45R-18 Michelin X-Ice Xi3 XL all the way around, so far so good. I did not transport the tires in the car (I do not think our seats fold). Order Total: $1,657.67 with TPMS sensors and tires mounted on new wheels from tirerack shipped.

All four wheels/tires mounted, will fit in on the back seat.

Following up in this since I did end up buying a 5.0.

What set of R18 wheels did you get? I have been playing around on tirerack, and the price you quoted seems about right.

18x8 MOTEGI RACING MR118 BLK PAINT. I did not go into this looking for black wheels, but they hide brake dust and look ok on a silver car.

2 things:

the tires work in the snow but are not the best snow tires I have used.

You DO NOT have to buy the TPMS computer. The car will learn and recognize the new sensors automatically.
