If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. I just replaced my wiper blades with some Goodyear or Michelle (can't remember which company it was) ones I bought at Costco, but i'm not to happy with them. They tend to drag the water that stops at the left side of the windshield back on it due to airflow over the wiper blade. Especially for the driver side wiper blade. Has anybody found a source for just the rubber insert? The original wiper blades definitely seem like they are designed to accept refills. I had OEM refills on my previous car (09 Accord), and it was great, they were inexpensive and worked really well.

I know myself and others' are very happy with Valeo blades, but this is not an insert, but inexpenive for something replaced not all that often. They rock:cool: I actually now use them on all my cars since a forum member mentioned these were good.

I live in SE ARizona where the sun is brutal most of the year. Hence, the rubber in wiper blades does not last more than a few months at most. I generally have to replace the blades on my vehicles at least twice a year. The Genesis is a year old now, and I just noticed the wipers not doing the job. Well, I took a look and thought, Hmmmm....only need refills as the 'arm' itself is nice and appears designed for the car. I called around and nobody, not even Wally
World, sells wiper 'refills' now. And thes refills would have to be pretty narrow as well...so I looked around and finally decided on replacing the entire arm (yea, that sucks, since the Genny arms look pretty nice)...I ended up going with the $18 Rain-X blades. Yea it pretty much sucks that now you have to spend $35 instead of about $8 for refills. But I digress. I went ahead and got the replacement blade and arms, and put them on the car and they work very VERY well in our torrential cloudbursts here in Monsoon Season. Now I kept the OEM blades and arms as well, cause I will reuse them.

As an ASIDE, a few days later I was in the local BIG LOTS store...I wandered thru their "automotive" section and guess what...I FOUND the same size wipers (RAIN-X, blade, arm and all) for $10 each. Needless too say, I now have wiper blades for the next year or so for the Genny, Envoy, and Isuzu...saved a buttload of money and now I'll have wiper replacements on hand when I need them and not have to run out to the store...(another thing, is after months and months of no rain, as I said, wipers deteriorate...and you get that one big rain, and if you are not the first one in the store, EVERY parts and discount store in town SELLS out in a short time). :p

What model of Valeo do you have?

Edit: Looks only 900 Series is available for Genesis.

Thanks guys. I thought the same to myself, the wiper arm that the Genesis comes with is so much nicer than the replacements I got. Previously, on my Honda Accord, I would be able to purchase the refills from any Honda dealership, and the were in the $4-$8 dollar range. Regardless of the price, I just like the ones that came with the car more. Has anybody had their wiper blades changed at the dealership? I have to ask them when I am there if they put on new arms with the blades, or if they just have the refills.

If I remember correctly someone did get their blades changed at the dealer and said it ran around $70-$80, but this was a couple years ago. Maybe price has dropped? I might be a rare one on here, but I really like the OEM blades, but I wasn't going to drop that much $ on wipers. The Valeo's are almost as good, but cost around $25-$30 shipped to my door from Amazon.

I like the OEM blade and arms as well, but after I put the RAIN-X (I think that is what they were), it really doesn't make a difference. When retracted I can't see them, and I don't watch them in motion...the replacements look good in my opinion and don't lock you into a specific size refill...BUT, as I said, I'm not ditching my OEM wipers..I'm calling the dealer now to see what the cost is for the refills:

For my 2012, he says he only shows the entire wiper, not just the rubber insert. He said there is no 'part number" for the rubber only. SO I cannot tell you the width, or where you could find a rubber refill. But in any case, here are the part numbers and prices (here in SV).

RETAIL PRICES shown (your local dealer price may vary depending on how well you know them...)..according to him, the price for the shorter arm is more.

$20.31 for the 24" blade/arm assy, Hyundai Part # 98360-3M200

$22.43 for the 20" blade/arm assy, Hyundai Part # 98350-3M100

If somebody measures the width the OEM rubber inserts, that wold be a start....Hope this helps.

List price of the Hyundai OEM blades are $15.99 each ($31.98 for the set). I guess the rest was "labor."

You can get them for $12.79 each online, there is a shipping charge, so maybe if you purchase some air and cabin filters at the same, it is worth it.

Looks like 2009-2010 is different than 2012. Here is online price for the part number you mentioned:

BLADE ASSY-WIPERPS
Make: Hyundai | Part#: 983603M200
List Price: $20.96
Your Price: $16.77

MULT PNCS
Make: Hyundai | Part#: 983503M100
List Price: $18.98
Your Price: $15.18

I guess these prices aren't that terrible. Thanks for the info!

Yea I was figuring prob $40 each for the wipers....not too bad. Like I said, I kept mine and will eventually buy the replacement blades. It's now that I have two sets of Rain-X to go thru...well, never mind...the Envoy (2004) uses the same size blades, so I guess I could just tell my wife that she has wipers now for the next two years or more. LoL..

I haven't had to replace the blades on my '12 Genesis yet but I've used Bosch Icons on my family's vehicles in the past and we've been very happy. I checked on Amazon and they're $19.87 and $18.44 with Amazon Prime (free shipping) (24" and 20").

Yea, as a suggestion I would troll the local BIG LOTS stores as well...you NEVER know what turns up there. As I said, I found the $18 Rain-X blades for $10 each and jumped on a years supply for my vehicles. LoL...

I use the same good year wipers from costco, they work perfectly well. I also use Rain X on the windshield and it just makes the blades glide over the glass with no effort and in total silence.

I also got a pair of the Valeo Blades for my Genesis based on Recs here. I liked them well enough that I bought a pair for my Lexus as well. Maybe the best Wipers I've owned!

I got Valeo blades about 6 months ago. They were OK in the beginning but now they just drag the water, really uncomfortable to drive in rain. Hate to change wipers every 6 months, but I guess I have no choice. No more Valeo for me, will try PIAA Si-Tech may be.

I put Rain-X in the washer tub and it works great that way too!

The National Highway Transportation Board recommends that drivers change their windshield wipers, at minimum, every year (every six months is ideal). However, the average vehicle owner replaces his/her wipers only once every 2.5 years.

On some newer wipers, such as PEAK Valeo SmartBlade, there is a built-in wear indicator which recognizes diminished blade performance. By taking one glance at the indicator, you will know when they need replacing.
