  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I normally just change my wiper blades however I really like the stealth design/look of the originals and they have lasted well over 1 1/2 years so I figured why not get the originals. Went to the dealer and was quoted $91 for both wipers, almost fainted and so did the parts guy. I asked him about refills so he looks it up and sure enough Hyundai has an official part number for refills for the Gen2. I think it was $25 or so.

Good info - Thanks!

Thank You for the heads up Midnightsun. That is good to know for sure. Mine are still working like the day I bought the car back in September of 2014. Amazing here in Florida for them to last that long. I have always spent the money for good wipers (Bosch) down here and they were worth it. They would run you about $40 per set so the $25 for the refills is awesome. Thanks again.

$91? Wow. Thanks for the info. Some cars have terrible OEM wipers and some have decent ones. Sounds like we got lucky, and even luckier that refills are available!!

I assume this is in Canadian currency?

Correct so I assume around 60-70 in the States. Regardless, still crazy for wipers.

Do you know the part number of the refill?

Thanks in advance.

Here is a good example of paying more because of brand prestige. As we all know, Kia and Hyundai are basically the same manufacturer, Kia being the low end. Many parts in a Kia are the same as Hyundai and will even come in Hyundai packaging when ordered from Kia.

Here is the drivers side insert from Kia, same Hyundai part number. http://www.kiapartsdiscount.com/p/Kia__/Insert/51734629/98351B1000.html

Here is the Hyundai insert, from Hyundai. http://www.hyundaioemparts.com/hyun...-and-washer-components-scat/?part_name=insert

Same item, same part number yet the list price difference is 80% more on the Hyundai site in comparison to the Kia .

Great find.

cool, diverting from the hyundai dealership to the kia dealership in a few minutes

I once owned a 2004 Acura TL and a 2003 Honda Accord EX V6, many of the parts were interchangeable and in most cases you could go to the Honda dealership or order Honda parts in similar fashion.

Not so quick as the passenger side is NOT available at Kia so you would need to go to both. luck has it there is a Kia dealer right beside my Hyundai dealer.

The kia wiper inserts happen to be for the Kia Sedona which are the same length as the drivers side on the Genesis @ 26" however the passenger side of the Genesis is 16". If you order the Kia model you refer to you will get 2x 26". Comprendez?

Kia Sedona parts on a soon to be Genesis Motors G80? Not gunna do it, gross.
