Wireless CarPlay Hack

Found a device that converts from wired to wireless CarPlay. Here it is installed. See it?

This is the Ottocast U2-AIR, currently US$68 on Amazon. It's specifically designed to convert wired-only CarPlay cars to wireless CarPlay. It takes 10 to 20 seconds to get connected and working when I get into the car, but for the most part works well.

It measures about 5 cm X 5 cm X 1 cm, so it fits nicely on the "roof" of the charging bay behind the rear defroster control. I used some double-sided velcro to attach it snugly. It comes with a short USB cable that tucks up behind it.

I'm pretty sure a lot of us use a similar product. I've had one since I bought my G70 in March and you're right, they work great. Music starts playing within 30 seconds of starting up the car.

I started with Car Play but have switched to Android Auto, which I personally like better.
