Wireless cell phone charger door wont stay shut

1G Genesis Sedan (2009-2014)
I added a usb wireless android auto adapter, rather short one. Tried to close the door and it didn't work. Now even with the USB key removed it still won't close. Has this happened to anyone ? Has anyone advise on how I can remedy this. My closest dealer is 3 hours away and the car is no longer under warranty.
