  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello guys! Glad there is a forum like this!
I wanted to some feedback from current owners regarding their g70 3.3.

I love the car! So beautiful! The best bang for your buck easily! However I found I didn’t realize how terrible it was on gas!

- (GAS) anyone else at gas pump a lot? I feel like pumping a lot, I’m constantly on eco made to save on gas! I’m pumping every 5 days! I am coming from an accord so maybe this is typical!

- adjusting seats while music is on, and the stero sounds statics, when I turn off and on it’s fine.

- any major car repairs you guys had? I’m at 20k miles. Previous owner did like 5k miles a year now I see why haha !

I've got a 2022 LE and I'm getting 20.1 mpg over 9900 miles. When I'm on the highway and using Eco mode I get close to 30. Spirited driving drops that number substantially 😁

I don't know much about the Accord but I would assume Accords get better mpg. The G70 lands more on the performance side.

Yeah, coming from an Accord it's going to be a transition... The 3.3 gives you the thrills but it comes at a cost.

...you may as well tune it now and get big power... fuel mileage won't drop much more LOL

Glad I returned mine for the 2.0T, which has plenty of power. One thing I didn't like about the 3.3T is not having a bigger fuel tank. It's already barely adequate for the 2.0T. The 3.3T probably has the range of a motorcycle. Ha ha. But hey, at least your 3.3T doesn't have valves (like 2022+), so you can only hear the mechanical noise of the V6, which is nice, and not the awful exhaust noise mine made. Good luck.

My 3.3 generally averages 20ish of in-town driving in comfort mode. My G37 was not much different so I have no complaints. Didn’t buy my G70 hoping for 25-30 mpg for I knew around town that would not happen. If in sport mode and if you have a lead foot you will get much less than 20mpg but it’s a trade off based on how you wish to drive and the fun factor you want.

If the Accord had a 376HP turbo V6, it probably won't get much better MPG either. Well... maybe slightly better because of less driveline loss with FWD, but not much. Not sure what you were expecting when you chose the 3.3T. The EPA ratings are not far off most folks' actual mpg. It is, as they say... what it is. :)

Both our 2.0T G70 and Stinger get 30+MPG on my commute route. I doubt an Accord 2.0T would do a whole lot better. Fuel economy isn't the only reason we went with the 2.0T, but it was a reason nevertheless. I'd imagine most folks buying the 3.3T understand the mpg compromise with a 376HP turbo V6. That said... much of it depends on your right foot, regardless of what drive mode you choose. It isn't impossible to get decent MPG with the twin turbo. You just have to have the right throttle discipline.

I'd dare to say most of us here lack the previously mentioned "throttle discipline"😂😂😂

OP - there are 2 parts to the frequent fuel-ups: not-so-great fuel economy around town; and the small fuel tank. note that the 3 series has a similar tank capacity to the G70, both of which are too small IMO, and the G70's only exacerbates the fuel economy realities for city commutes. the Accord had an even smaller tank, but given the far superior fuel economy you'd be filling up less often in theory.

your fuel economy is directly proportional to the nature of your commute (which you can't do much about) and how you drive. bottom line if you are city driving in stop-go traffic, the G70 will not be great but nor would many other similar ICE cars with sporting intentions.

my previous G37 (and G35 before that) had a 20 gal tank which was epic. highway range was amazing, but fuel-ups were costly.

my G70 is a 2.0T and i average in the low 20's mpg (USG) or ~10-11 l/100km for my city commute. usually above 20 mpg, always below 24. highway i get ~30 or a bit more on flatter terrain. mountainous terrain is a crap shoot. interestingly, i saw ~10% improvement when i had my JB4 tuner across the board.

Thanks for this feeedback!

I get the same issue sporadically when adjusting my seat. Sometimes it does it and sometimes it’s fine. It only happens when I use CarPlay so I just unplug my phone and plug it back in. It’s annoying but at least it’s easily fixable.

No major repairs yet at 24k (2019 3.3 awd) miles other than the normal brake pad issue and I am going to need my head unit screen replaced since it is starting to bubble some on the edge.
