  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Worth getting any post-purchase options?

Wrapping up a purchase of a 3.3 RWD Advanced this week. They sent over their financing options, and two add ons: the car wrap (warranty extension to 10 years) and 3 additional years of prepaid maintenance.

Have any of you chosen to get these? I think the prepaid maintenance package may be worth it (3 years for $850) - can anyone confirm if that's a worthwhile deal? Not sure how much service visits usually run on these G70's.

Is the maintenance package actually full maintenance per the Genesis recommended maintenance schedule? Or is it only oil changes?

I recall reading somewhere in the maintenance schedule to replace brake pads at a certain mileage and a few other expensive "preventative maintenance" requirements.

If the $850 truly covers all of it, without a deductible, then not a bad deal.

The maintenance is $284 a year. What is included? Typical oil change is $50 to $60 twice a year. Do you get filters? At 60,000 do you get transmission oil change? Wheel alignment?
If all of that is included it may be a decent deal but it is rather expensive just for oil changes.

As for the 10 year warranty, how long do you anticipate keeping the car? IMO, they are not worth it.

Keep in mind that you do NOT have to do the scheduled maintenance at the dealership. You can have it performed at any local shop - just save the receipts. My buddy was going to get the "maintenance package" with his used BMW (for $1,200) and I talked him out of it.

Looks like it's mainly just oil changes, filters, and rotations covered.

Can anyone tell me what their service costs usually run a year? EdP mentioned $284, which seems about right, but I'd like some additional experiences as well. Not that I doubt you, @EdP ! Just want a plethora of info

The $284 is what you pay for the add on from the dealer for the pre-pay. Last year my cost was about $120. Did my own cabin filter for another $10.

I wouldn’t do it. Once you figure out exactly what kind of excellent service, lol, your gonna get from your Hyundai dealer, you will be glad to not have to deal with them anymore than absolutely required.

^ yeah, but we need to consider what the anticipated scheduled services will be in years 4-6 of ownership. if the $850 covers everything (except wear items like brakes/clutch, etc) with no deductible or hidden fees that might not be a terrible deal. i haven't taken a look at the years 4-6 required services but i'd have to imagine: spark plugs, differential & transfer case fluid, gearbox fluid, brake fluid and maybe another thing or two on top of the routine OCI and various filter changes. $284/year, or more like $142 bi-annually, might actually be an OK deal.

i'm far from a big fan of using dealers for preventative maintenance. never have until the G70 since it is "free" for the first 5 years in Canada. but if the OP confirms what the expected included services are it will be easy enough at that point to determine if $850 is a deal or not.
