  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

your MPG drops 5 MPG...

First full tank of gas (normal commute) with drive time temps around 32 and my MPG is back down to 20.6 (over a 5 MPG drop).....

Not really doing a long warm up, 90 seconds then slow drive until fully warm...

yeah it sucks, mine went down to 20.2. I was at 23 mpg just before. This sucks....in MN we're still suppossed to be in the 60's this time in October and in the TC we have been 25 degrees below average lately.

Have you reset your tire pressures? Are you getting ethanol-laced fuel now?

Tire pressure is fine, and the ethanol-laced fuel won't be here for a while. Same gas.

we haven't switched over yet to winter gas.. I did check tire pressure all fine at 32...

once winter gas arrives I expect another 10% drop in MPG...

I have to agree with DesertGen, what is this "cold weather" of which you speak? I think they said we were supposed to get a "cold front" this weekend which would see the temperatures dip down into the 80's.

Just returned to Florida from Penfield. Only purchased gas at Hess Stations in the Rochester NY area, because they are the only ones that do not have ethanol in their fuel. Got good gas milage on that. Once I got back to the Southland, my milage dropped, as all I could get was E10.

(The only good thing about E10 is that you don't have to add anything to unfreeze your fuel line [in those very cold states] and the ethanol keeps fuel lines and injectors clean, i.e. no need to buy injector cleaners.)

Cold, is that feeling you get when you open your freezer door looking for ice cream.

You are likely more like my Dad that now thinks 50 is arctic temps...(too many years in Fl).....
