  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have around 8200 miles on my 2012 3.8. This has only happened three times. Driving around town, everything is fine, come to a stop and for about 3 seconds the engine acts like it's going to die. It stutters and misses and then all is OK. I've had it for 8 months so this is really intermittent. Seems like 2 or 3 months between issues. Car is driven around town and also on long trips at high speeds so it gets varied use.

Anyone else experience this?

Have dealer do complete diagnostic at next oil/filter change.

A few people have mentioned with similar symptoms that the TPS was bad on their car. Maybe something to have dealer check on at next service.

Yes I had the same problem last month on my 3.8 with 12000 miles. I suggest that you check out TSB 12-FL-007 dated 7-20-12. It is an ECU update that corrects problems with the IDB (Injector Drive Box) in the 3.8 GDI engine in the Genesis Sedan and Coupe and the 3.3 GDI engine in the Azera. If you have access to an engine code analyzer look for error codes P0300-P0306... the codes for various "Cylinder Misfires".

Talk to your dealer. The update fixes the problem and takes less than an hour. Good luck.

Thanks, for the very specific info. I'll have it checked.
