  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I just finished my rebadge on my silver rspec and the oval where the flying H was seems to be a completely different color. I would think the outline of the H might be different due to it not seeing light ever but the entire oval is.

Attached is a pic

Has anyone else experienced this?

Kind of hard now....try a little very light polish, very carefully I just did my titanium one that is 12 months old and I see no discoloration after goo gone, micro polish and alcohol cleaning.

I used goo gone for the remove of the adhesive and it is completely smooth. I'm baffeled as to why there is such a noticable difference

Look very closely at the edge of the H that you removed. It may have signs that the trunk was repainted. Also feel the edge where the two colors meet, if its not totally smooth then it was repainted and should be indicated on the dealer's inspection reports. Polishing will not change it. Your dealer needs to make it right.

I think you may be right. I bought this car as a demo with 6k miles on it and they sold it to me "new". I didnt even think to ask for a car fax report.

It is new if it has never been sold.

My R-Spec had paint work around the rear license plate. Not unusual on a new car.

Shipping damage

should i take it to a local paint shop to get them to match?

Only way to fix it right is to sand area, spray area to match with base coat, then mid coat then the whole trunk deck lightly sanded then clear coated. Not a quick fix. Take it back to dealer for them to make it right.

This is not always true. When I worked at a dealership, if we took in a trade of a Hyundai (which is where I worked) that had less than 5,000mi on the ODO, we would mark it as "new" and put it on the lot as a managers special :o

Did you work for Pohanka in MD? CarFax, I think, prevents such shafting today.
