  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Is there a consensus of opinion which are best for a 2009 4.6? Going to rain soon.

Thanks in advance.

There is endless discussion of this on the forum. Just do a search for threads on "wiper blades". I personally like Valeos, after trying several others.

Also like my Valeo's, have been the best overall of the blades I have tried.

Here are the #'s for them, this is the required one for our car's wiper bracket:

Valeo 900-24-7B
Valeo 900-20-7B

I got mine on Amazon.com for $19-20 each, yes they are a bit more pricey but they work great....might be able to find them somewhere else cheaper. Hope this helps some :)

I use rain-X plus (don't know the brand of blade and don't care) -- which beats any wiper blade without rain-X. For those seeking less subjective opinion, the top 4 consumer reports blades are:

Brand & Model, CR Rating
Valeo 600 Series, 72
Rain-X Latitude, 70
ANCO 31 Series, 66
Michelin RainForce, 65

Valeos are the only way to go

Apparently the 2012s use a different Valeo wiper.

Quoting Gen0814 for his post about the 2012s on another thread: "The correct models are: Ultimate 900-24-1B (driver) and 900-20-1B (pass). These models comes with correct adapter for hook arm. So, for 2012 owners who want to upgrade OEM wipers, these are the models to get."

Thanks for the info on the 2012s Gen0814. Looks like I'll try the Valeos since people seem to like them.

I will confirm they did change the weird attachment system starting with the 2012 model year which now use a very standard U hook type. This opens the doors to almost every brand of wiper ever made for 2012 and 2013 owners. The previous style was only fabricated by a few manufacturers.

PIAA Si-Tech Silicone wiper blades are my preferred choice.

Part numbers for 2009-12 Genesis Sedan: Driver: 97060 (blade #81); Passenger: 97040 (blade #5).

Suprisingly, it hasn't rained for 81 days in Western Washington, so I haven't even had the chance to try out the Factory blades.

no regrets... just wish I could afford the Rspec
I have 14 years on you, and my 3.8 could be the last car I ever buy (I don't commute any more, and we don't travel very much, so the miles are piling on very slowly). A purchase like the RSpec just doesn't make any sense to me, but still, it's pretty enticing.

I just ordered a set of Bosch Icon blades. I tried a set of Valeos, but they didn't last for me; shortest wiper life in my life.

My OE blades made it about 10 months. The last couple months were sketchy, but the first 8 were great.

I put the Valeos on in August 2013. They were showing streaks in late September. By December they were awful.

I am pinning some hope on the Bosch. The OEs were very good. The only reason I did not go with them originally was that they are overpriced for basic inserts. However if they perform, maybe they are not overpriced.

Got tired of factory blades after 2,000 miles. Had store credit @ Autozone. Went with Rain-X Latitudes. I've had great luck with them on several other vehicles.

I had the opposite experience. I've tried them all. Rain ex was poor quality out of the box. I've finally committed to Bosch after much unscientific research.

Hi All, twice a year I give my w/screen a scrub with small nylon nail brush and a little tablet hand soap, then a good rinse.. It's amazing how much crud comes off.
Thereafter I can decide if new blades are required.. In the UK I always used Bosch plus Clearalex Concentrated car Screenwash..worked a treat.
The screen wash can be bought at Amazon..
Here I have never replaced anything other than OEM's.. ;)

I received a set of Silblades as a Christmas gift. Pretty dang impressive.
