Horn fuse life

I can report that the life of a horn fuse is only about 50 seconds of continuous tooting. A guy cut me off dangerously and that's as much horn as I could give him. Got the fuse replaced at my dealer in a 30 minute wait.

haha nice find. whenever someone cuts me off or does something really stupid that almost results in an accident i tend to hold my horn down for atleast about 30 seconds before flying past them with a "bird" out my window towards them . i dont "beep" or "toot" my horn. lol

but anyways, thats good to know, ill be sure not to hold my horn down that long next time.

I agree, 50 seconds of continuous horn tooting is excessive and unnecessary. Let's be reasonable.

I do use the maxmar04 method, 30 seconds and the bird out the window.

Brilliant responses. I'm sure it made an impression on him. I'm a pretty conscientious driver but I am not perfect. I am capable of mistakes and I realize when I make one. But I'm happy to know that when I do err, I'll have somebody trying to follow me closely or drive beside me blowing his horn continuously and possibly giving me the finger. Wooo Hooooo!

The driver who cut us off did not do so by accident. He weaved his way through a long line of cars without regard for anybody's safety. I find a middle finger a much less effective form of protest, not to mention childish.

By the way, in the end the fuse was not the problem. Both horns were eventually replaced. Some defect in the circuit, they said.
