  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello all, has anyone in Alberta or Canada for that matter, received their 2013 3.8 coupe GT yet? mines been on order since March and I still cannot get a delivery date from the dealer or Hyundai Canada

If you do a search you would find out that the Koreans are on strike. No cars will be built until they start the factory back up. It has been going on all summer.

Thanks for the info man!, as i suspected all along my dealer and HC were being less than truthful about the real reason behind the production delays.

When I signed the for the car, it was to be 4-6+ weeks delivery, but for the better part of 6 months, both the dealer and HC, have apologized end on end with no pending delivery date,

Telling me my "special colour" could delay the delivery, then they said, there "moving the plant", which has caused unforeseen delays...

F-Me there all lying bastards - KB

I have been waiting since June 16th, was told they are looking and have told me how popular the car is blah blah blah, they never told me about the strike or moving the plant. I hate being lied to. Booo Hyundai  I hope to see my Coupe by Christmas.

My last email update from my dealer was that they are just now building the 2.0's , which was the second excuse they gave me after telling me my "special colour" was the reason for the delay, so they can't keep their story straight, and continue to lie about why the delays exist. Come Sept 24, I will have been waiting 6 full months and still no definitive due date or verification that the car is even in production, (NO VIN)

FYI: I've seen at least 4 2013 2.0's in Calgary, and just as many/if not more 3.8 GT's in Phoenix AZ! what gives?

Man, you guys have more patience than I do, that's for sure.

When I decided I wanted one I went to the local dealer and started talking. I told them I wanted a 3.8 Track with a manual transmssion in the Interlagos Yellow color.

They tried to sell me a red one, then a blue one. I told them I wanted the yellow one. They told me they were having trouble finding a yellow one but I could order one and wait 5 or 6 months till the new ones came out (2012's). I told them no way I was going to wait. They again said they were having difficulties finding a yellow coupe. I replied that I was sure Chevrolet had yellow Camaros on the dealer's lots and they sat up very straight and told me that they never said they couldn't get one, they were just having difficulties and asked me to give them a few more days.

A couple of days later they called to tell me they'd found one. I asked where it was and they wouldn't tell me. They did say they had to negotiate with the dealer that had it in order to get it transferred. A couple of days later it was here and I went in and picked it up. They told me they got curious about it since their search had taken so long. They said they ran a dealer inventory search for all Hyundai dealer east of the Mississippi and found only 2 Interlagos Yellow 3.8 tracks with 6 speeds available. Mine and one other one. Then they stopped offering the yellow color in the coupe's. I'm glad I got mine when I did (or I'd have hat to go check out the Camaros or Mustangs).

I'm just astounded by both my dealer and Hyundai Canada's inability to fess up, but instead they continue to cycle through excuses. Never once mentioning the labour issues.

If I had only been told a single truth as to the actual delivery date, the sale would have been a go regardless, This is the car I want to buy, plain and simple.

My car will now deliver in mid winter and in Alberta Canada, that means the snow is often deep and the roads are shitty for driving. My 3.8GT will need to go into storage until spring.

I don't drive mine when the weather is bad. They really don't use salt down here in the Richmond, VA area like they do in some places but I don't want to take a chance on getting corrosive chemicals splashed/washed into the underside cracks and crevises. I've seen too many nice vehicles with rust holes.

The old Chevy pickup doesn't matter to me much so I drive it when the roads are bad. My 86 IROC still looks great and I intend for the coupe to still look great 25 years from now.

I just put mine in storage for the winter. Cold bad winter is coming sooner this year..

Just got told that my VIN is due any day now, for the 3rd F'n time since I bought my 3.8 GT way back in March!

Still waiting ... and waiting ... and waiting, so, okay, you get the idea. Since June 16th, still no Gray 2013 3.8 Track Automatic to be seen. Dealership called with more B.S. of a date of Mid to Late November. Geeez!:(

Just picked up my 2013 3.8 GT A/T (black) after waiting only about a week. Dealer had only this one in this model but it was the one I wanted. It seems that more are arriving weekly in South Florida.

Hey all, DELIVERY FINALLY! after almost 8.5 months of waiting, Pick'd her up last Saturday! really happy except for.... rear spoiler was delayed b-cuz colour match was off, and had a big ass, hard to miss scratch on the top of my rear bumper, that I had to point out, pisses me off they thought I wouldn't notice!
Show Room Condition, My Ass!

Hyundai dealers are not Cadillac . All they worry about is the sell. Sorry it took so long. Sure hope it was worth it. You are now stuck with it for the duration. Main thing is a good wax to protect the thin clear coat and rock chips. Break it in right it should last until you pay it off..

Are you saying that they deliver the Track's without the spoiler and it's a dealer install?
