  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Just came back from the LA Auto Show. The Hyundai presentation was packed with people. Audi was over flowing with people and had a lot of models on the floor.

The A-4 R- Spec was a huge dissappointment to me...the interior seemed really cheap. The knobs are were chrome ( alot of chrome in the Jags as well). They had that listed at 61K.

The S-5 looked great in and out. They had it listed at about 62K

They had the new Acura NSX on display...what a gorgous drop dead stunning car. Wow! Why can't Acura apply those design chops to their other cars?

The new Acura RLX looks as much like an Avalon in person as it does in pictures. The interior looks really high quality....especially when compared to the 61k A4

The Audi, MB's and Bimmer interiors in the 60k range cars all look like....I don't know I was expecting better at that price range. One has to jump to the 80k range imo to get the "wow" factor it seems.

The MB E series had great seats but the nav is tiny and not placed in a way to protect the screen from the sun thereby creating a situation where you can't see it.

The classiest display was by Volvo by far for the consumer. A lounge with coffee, bottles of water, cookies, etc. And huge iMacs for learning about their cars. Maxed out S60 R-Spec about 52k by the way.

Finally, Lexus had an F Sport version of thier big flag ship. It looked really cool and mean but gosh I just don't know if it was believable ultimately simply because of it's size. They also had a stunning car on display of unknown (by me) origin. It wasn't the Ferrari beater....it was something I'd never seen or heard about.

There was one Genny R-Spec on display. Guy there said he was going to get one because they're offering 0 % financing.

thanks for the summary.

how did the new Cayman look?
i always thought the rear half looked ugly compared to the Boxster.

Porsche had a dedicated room full of people and lit by huge klieg lights. It was really hot and uncomfortable in there so I didn't stay very long. Every car I checked was locked. The only car that was unlocked was a Panamera and there were about 2 dozen people milling around it. Never did look at the Cayman.

What you saw was probably the Lexus LF-LC concept, if it was blue anyway. I didn't see anything else they were showing that was something new/unheard of by many.

Edit: Could have been the LF-CC if it were a smaller coupe and brownish, but that's more of a LFA spin off.

I was pretty impressed with the Jaguar XFR-S. Reminds me of the Aussie Ford Falcon's in the V8 super series.

It was the gold colored car with a matching blue. I have pics from the show. Click here, https://www.dropbox.com/sh/vx6ec0cto8dv16q/bPC51m4_jV

Yep, that's true. But what about the Lexus coupe? It's gold too. I'd have taken Genny pics but there was only a white R-Spec and we all know what that looks like.

The lexus coupe is the LF-CC I mentioned in my post above. Gold/Brown - Golden Brown? Whatever :)

Did you try the owners lounge upstairs above the Equus. You just need to show your keys to enter. There's free espresso, cappochino's etc and cookies. Good place to sit away from the crowds and not have to pay for a Starbucks. Agree on the comments about finding a Genesis equivalent for under $60k, and forget about an Equus look alike, try a Benz at +$100k.

My bad. I thought LF-CC was title of the super car. I see the LF-CC on trhe plat enow. Missed it. What's up with that car? They had blue and gold versions. Looked great.

From what I saw and have read the blue car is a concept LF-LC (luxury coupe) it's slightly larger and more luxurious than the LF-CC and it's supposedly a higher end luxury experience than the LF-A (current super car they have) but not the insane engine/performance that a super car needs. The LF-CC is just a "Concept Coupe" as they are considering offering a performance oriented model at a lower price point to compete with things like the C63 AMG, M3 Coupe etc.

Keep in mind a lot of that's just rumored crap on the internet. I didn't really hear much differing opinion/thought from different sources though.
