  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I think I have to be a noobie again...I traded in my 2009 4.6 for a 2012 4.6. And I like the new toys: Smart Cruise, LDWS, folding mirrors, new suspension, and downloading the phone # list via bluetooth.

I must admit that the most noticeable thing is the smooooth ride...the suspension is not quite as "firm" as the 2009. My wife is still not happy to have her seat w/o air and up and down adjustments. :p But I'm happy!

Sterling blue is no longer an option....so I went with the sparkly white and cashmere interior. :D What a machine!!!

Sterling the 2009 had up/down and cooling on the passenger seat? Do you miss the firmer ride of the 2009? It seems you can have sporty or comfortable but not both.

The "firmer" ride of the '09 was also that model's greatest negative, according to most reviews. Some would call it defective, not firmer.

I pretty sure he meant it did not have it on the 2009 passenger seat and the 2012 still does not have it. Which is why his wife is still upset:D

Yep, what snork said. She says that Korea is obviously still a MAN's world...that's why the passenger seat doesn't have the cooling and the up and down controls. I do my best NOT to add fuel to that line of thinking.

It's also a cost issue. The US Genesis sells for about $15K less than equivalent KDM Genesis.

Thanks for your opinion. It would seem to me that it could be offered as an option....I know my wife is not the first to complain about the passenger seat issue.

I hear this bad ride argument against the 09 all the time and cannot understand it. I love the ride on my 09 3.8 Genny and find it very smooth while also retaining some firmness for cornering. Of course I'm coming from a G37S coupe so that may have something to do with it.

Also I have to say that I am not impressed with the new styling of the 2012's. They just look fatter to me and the refresh of the headlights and taillights do not look as good as the originals. I've found that most model refreshes tend to look worse than the original designs with cars, at least in my opinion....

I don't think it's a cost issue, it's a Korean thing. A lot of much less expensive vehicles have the same features on the passenger side as the driver's side. Our old 2003 Explorer has the same adjustments on both sides.

I promised the DW that I would add an aftermarket power lumbar to the passenger side after I take delivery of the Genesis I have on order (cost around $300 installed).
