If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Re: Turning ESC off

I have a 2011 4.6 sedan. I tried the fuse pull replace, but I had 3 lights after I put the fuse back in. One was auto hold. next was esc. and the last was epb. Can anyone give me an insight as to why the auto hold and EPB are still on. The car will go forward and reverse and it don't feel like the brakes are on. Can any one else give me any ideas. I think one other member had the same problem but no one replied to his post. Thanks in advance for any help or advice.

Re: Turning ESC off

I'm not sure which fuse you removed, but ESC module communicates with EPB & AVH (according to hmaservice.com). And since ESC system is a safety system, it is probably notifying you that there was some fault detected (you removing the fuse). You probably need to go to the dealership to get the code cleared.

This is a question from another thread that showed how to completly disable the esc by removing the fuse. It worked for other people except me and one other fellow who got the same warning's as me. replacing the fuse and starting it back up got rid of all of the warnings. Would like to be able to disable the esc if someone can tell me why it doesn't work on my car.

This is the post I'm reffering to. Any help

WOW,

I'm surprised at how little attention this is getting compared to the original thread about removing the ESC fuse to let her rip.
I thought everyone would want to try this...well, anyways here goes...

Very easy.
1. Start the car
2. Pull the 10a ESC fuse
3. Press the ESC button inside the car
4. Put the fuse back in
5. DONE...Please be careful...your monster is unleashed

As I said...The cruise control does not work anymore
You CANNOT engage ESC till you restart the car.

I apologize for those who PM'd me for not getting back. I wrote this because no came back to me and I copied what PINGGOLF put in his thread about pulling the fuse.

Good luck and let me know if this works for you.

Thnx.

M5 beast,

sorry it's not working for you...maybe Hyundai discovered this and modified something on the newer cars so it can not be deactivated. I just don't know

I can assure you that on my 2009 model, I can completely disable it.
hope you find a way.

When disabled using the above method you lose all traction control, you can drift. You can get a better launch. If you just push the ESC button on the dash to turn it off all it does is raise the threshold as to when the ESC kicks in and limits power to the rear wheels.

They must have as the other person showing the same symbols on the dash was also a 2011. Thanks.
