  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I think this was the most generalized area to post this so I hope it's acceptable. I'm not much of a forum participant so I'm unfamiliar with some things.
I have a for sale post under tires and next to my thread are a blue envelope and a document icon. Everyone else has an orange envelope and I feel left out! Please tell me what those icons in the 2 rows on the left indicate and if there is something that limits the posts accessibility or if I have somehow put a setting on there incorrectly. Thanks!

I think the blue envelope indicates a discount rate for your ad.

Hmmm, discount rate? There was no fee.

Any time you post a new topic, it shows a blue envelope - that's called a "thread" icon.

If many people reply to a particular topic, it becomes "hot", or orange/red in this case. That's a "hot thread" icon you see next to those posts.

Sometimes we close topics, so you'll see a lock. Arrows usually mean a topic has been moved to the appropriate section... like this one, for instance. If you have a topic that is not specific to the Genesis/Equus, or accessories, lighting, etc... it should go in the Owner's Lounge.

Hope that helps.

I see no arrow next to that post...

I thought my coffee was working this morning, I could be wrong.

They look exactly the same on that screen shot.

And there's no arrow on MY screen - maybe 'cause of my moderator rights, who knows?

lol, thanks. I guess the arrows really won't matter as long as the post is visible to all and I'm not breaking any rules, etc. I'm okay with being the only blue envelope on the screen :(
